Hey /u/Exciting-Ad-4173 - We've posted a few workarounds that may resolve this issue on our Status twitter here:

As a workaround to fix the controller navigation issues players can do the following:

1) In your PlayStation Settings, set turn off auto log in and Restart the PlayStation.

2) Choose the account to log into once restarted and Launch FN.

FWIW, I did some experimenting.

  • The bug consistently tiggers whenever a player entity begins the swim animation (i.e. when entering any body of water). Player entities also includes bots spawned by a player throwing bot grenades directly into water (whether an enemy bot or friendly bot is spawned doesn't matter, the bug triggers regardless)
  • The bug occurs on both private and public lobbies, though the bug is much more apparent on public lobbies. In a private lobby on my own, I did not experience the bug once when actively avoiding using bot grenades or entering any water/triggering the swim animation. On public lobbies, with number of players ranging up to the max 16 in a lobby, the longest I've managed without experiencing the bug is 20 minutes (at the start, when number of players is typically <8).
  • When triggered, the bug doesn't occur across the whole lobby simultaneously (AFAIK this never happens), nor is a wh...

Thanks for this report. Passing it along to be looked into. What device do you play on?

BUG REPORT UPDATE:

The bug is probably related to the number of accounts used on a particular PlayStation. I use two accounts at the same time, but if I log out of one of them, the bug goes away. Same with my friend’s PlayStation.

This is really interesting, thanks for passing this info along. Hopefully, this helps narrow down the cause a bit!

Examples encountered/tried so far: • Battle Pass Tab - stuck like it’s selected/spamming the bonus rewards tab. Cannot select, cannot move through any other sections on this page. Nothing visually showing, sound effect of a button spam is heard. • Compete Tab: seems to work fine • Locker Tab: cannot navigate to anything. No visual indicator of what is current selected/hovered on, emotes not displaying at all, cannot select anything inside locker. • Item Shop Tab: automatically stuck on the top second item (currently for its Mr. Meeseeks Outfit), shows the button to be like it is spam clicking, gives the same sound effect, cannot navigate left it right through the shop only and down with no ability to select and go into an item. • Career Tab: visual glitching to look like a button is being spammed, sound effect also can be heard, visual touch...

Seen a few reports about this and we're looking into this issue now.

  • In v22.20, a “Custom Diagonals Keyboard Movement” setting has been added to the Mouse and Keyboard settings tab. With this new setting, you're now able to adjust the diagonal movement of your character to your preferred angle of movement.

    • To enable the setting, go to the Mouse and Keyboard tab and toggle “Use Custom Diagonals” to “On.” Then, adjust the “Forward Diagonal Angle” and “Backward Diagonal Angle” to your preferred movement angle.
  • With the exception of map changes, the Fortnitemares changes are not included in competitive playlists.
