Oh gotcha, it was the replacement ring for the ring Halo Ce that was being built on the ark. This artwork is odd... wonder if 343 is actually hinting at something. The ring even looks Banished flavored, doesn't it?

if things seem prolonged or like they'll take a bit to resolve, @HaloSupport will usually tweet about it but in this case, since it was a fast fix, they opted to just let people know the hiccup has passed.

I relaunched my game and the event pass shows up now. I completed a few challenges afterwards and none of them made progress towards the pass.
