Guess who's back? @Celestalon is here to give you, even MORE, #BehindTheCards exclusives.
Late in development, we wanted to give Blood a bit more Corpse-generation, and Frost a bit more card-generation. We saw an opportunity to turn these 3 strikes into a ‘cycle’, one for each Rune, with similar resource-generating designs. #BehindTheCards https://t.co/ouMjgSXMrG
Me as soon as the new expansion drops.
In case of Scourge attack, here’s where you can still draw power from the Sunwell ⬇️

To me, that's art. 🖼
You've heard of signature looks and signature scents, now get ready for ✨ SIGNATURE CARDS ✨
(1/2) This card represents Dranosh Saurfang, fierce warrior of the Horde, after being captured by the Lich King and converted into a Death Knight. While writing these, I thought to rewatch the WoW cinematic featuring Varok Saurfang, Dranosh’s father. #BehindTheCards https://t.co/Q25SrhbmBw
(1/2) This started in Paladin during development, but we moved it to Neutral. #BehindTheCards https://t.co/B70ZOTXlTm
I just want to point out that the name of the Undead Chicken summoned by this card is “Foul Fowl”, and I think that’s just wonderful. #BehindTheCards https://t.co/pF9Ph2BtB0
(1/2) We knew there would be a question of when exactly you get a Corpse from a minion timing, whether it’s before or after a Deathrattle triggers. #BehindTheCards https://t.co/fcCOM5Y3bU
(1/2) Many Vrykul swear allegiance to the Lich King, including many still living ones, such as this member of the Winterskorn clan. #BehindTheCards https://t.co/VFBnS6Oo8s
While not part of a particular deck archetype, we wanted to make a big defensive spell that could just save you in a pinch, especially through Discover or random generation. It’s important to have cards like this to ‘hope for’, to get you out of tricky situations. #BehindTheCards https://t.co/LjYdSCCS5t
(1/2) When brainstorming flavor ideas for cards that represented Silvermoon City, the most memorable thing to me from whenever I visited there was the magical brooms sweeping the streets. Had to include them as a card. #BehindTheCards https://t.co/0JSykkq64r
We had to get Arthas’ steed involved here, and took heavy design inspiration from the last notorious undead horse that graced a Hearthstone card, Bonemare. #BehindTheCards https://t.co/V8T6NNSM90
(1/2) This card started its life in Unholy, as a way for Unholy to spend corpses on card refill, named “Bring Out Your Dead”. #BehindTheCards https://t.co/a3xZsOE4BK
(1/2) In WoW, Death Knights have a ton of gameplay related to diseases, various plagues that they would infect enemies with, that had their own effects and activated other abilities. #BehindTheCards https://t.co/rSJstZq00J
(1/2) Each class has their own affinities for different minion types. We knew Death Knights would love Undead, but wanted to find something else they could dabble in as well, so they didn’t feel too one-note. #BehindTheCards https://t.co/F7WYekkbVA
(1/2) This card was called Mindtwister for much of development. Meanwhile, we had been trying to find a way to reference last year’s World Champion, Posesi, in a card name, and having a tough time with that. #BehindTheCards https://t.co/r1moxiDGrH
This card uses art from a WoW TCG card, Ghoulish Epidemic, but recolored to be primarily green, fitting Unholy, instead of its original bright red, which would have looked like a Blood card. #BehindTheCards https://t.co/kpcFLbTQQQ
We're back for round two! @Celestalon is here again to give you the stories #BehindTheCards of the upcoming expansion.
Both of these cards were named Arms Dealer at different points during of development. Eventually, one won out, and the other was renamed to Skeletal Sidekick. #BehindTheCards https://t.co/emLHGAPF3w
