48 hours in, and I have a few things to say. Other than thank you Ubisoft for yet another amazing game, obviously.
First, as much as I was hoping Hyperscape would have wallrunning at first, I’ve gotten over it completely. The map is amazing but simply isn’t made with wallrunning in mind. I can manage without it for sure, but I think a bit of extra mobility (excluding movement hacks) wouldn’t hurt. But with wallrunning kind of out of the equation we’re already limited on what could be included.
Being able to jump from wall to wall would be good, in my opinion. On one hand, it’s basically wallrunning, so the people who wanted that can be somewhat satisfied, while on the other, the map is clearly built around jumping, so the map’s design wouldn’t conflict with it as a new mechanic.
Second, I’m hoping that Ubi will at least consider balancing/updating the game for each platform separately. We’ve all been staring at the Hexfire debate for weeks now, along with aim assist on PC, and not to mention horrible FOV + nearly unusable controls for Console. It’s obvious that each platform has its own issues and I’m praying Ubi will handle them separately, instead of basing it all on one platform’s data and leaving the other to suffer.
Third, this might be just me, but please don’t try to force Hyperscape to become yet another “competitive experience”. Should ranked be added? Absolutely, let the most skilled players prove their abilities. But when you do, please don’t turn to ONLY the side of the community that would sweat it out in ranked all day every day when asking what the community wants. We all have opinions and I have faith that Ubisoft can make... almost everyone happy if they try to listen to all input, instead of pushing hardcore for a competitive shooter like cough Apex cough.
No hate to Apex. I just can’t stand when everything must be competitive to the max kind of game. I see it so much nowadays, I just want a PvP game that can be blind casual fun.
Finally, the first battle pass is really good, but yet again the free path has almost nothing of value on it. I understand you want people to spend money, the game is free and you need to profit somehow obviously. But it’s disappointing that there’s next to zero reason for me to grind the pass when I can’t afford to buy the premium track. I’m not asking for much, even if it’s just sprays I’d be content, but leaving the free track practically empty just hurts a bit.
And uh, yeah, all the FOV and sensitivity suggestions I’m sure you hear at least twenty times a day. That’s all.
