Hey everyone!

We are very interested in any and all feedback for Faction War- so please let us know your thoughts! We are aware of a few bugs, and while that is important, please know we are specifically interested in this thread on feedback such as: what you enjoy, what you don't enjoy, do you enjoy the mode overall, what elements do you specifically like, how would you improve the mode, etc. Thanks!

I see the appeal, and I think it’s valuable for players to practice movement and shooting in a lower pressure environment, but i personally prefer to pacing in the crown rush modes.

Thanks for the feedback! What exactly about the pacing of Crown Rush do you enjoy over Faction War?

Thanks for setting up this thread Arcane.

Bugs aside, I really enjoyed the mode and I'm happy it exists. Thank you for adding a mode so quickly into the game's lifespan.

That said, I think Hyper Scape has incredible potential stepping outside of the Battle Royale space. While Faction Wars is different than Squads/Solos, it is still Battle Royale at heart: A closing map and "wipe and you're out".

Since Hyper Scape is a very high skill cap game, this can make it difficult for some more casual players to enjoy the game especially if they spend a lot of time as an echo. Even though you can come back at any time, moving around as an echo is admittedly less fun than being in combat. Unlike the Squad/Solos modes, you could also potentially be dead for longer in Faction Wars, as in those other modes it's easier to be wiped and start a new match.

This is by the way, a testament to one of Hyper Scape's most incredible strengths: the moment to moment is so stinking fun. It is fun to play, even if it's hard to get eliminations for some people.

So I think the game can benefit if Faction Wars took the approach of either a:

  • DEATHMATCH mode where teams earn points for eliminations.
  • OBJECTIVE TEAMPLAY mode where perhaps you earn points over time for say: controlling zones.

In both cases, respawns are infinite (on a timer) and first team to reach X points wins. In doing this I think Ubi does 3 key things here that are critical to enjoyment of the game:

  1. Players of varying skill levels now have more modes they can play in, feel comfortable, and enjoy. Even if you're not a great player, you can still constantly be playing and helping your team in some way with one of these two modes.
  2. You ensure that the relative ratio of ALIVE : DEAD is more in favor of being alive, which as I mentioned is typically better for overall enjoyment
  3. Having a target win condition for large team modes ensures that matches don't drag out, which I think is also in the spirit of Hyper Scape. If one team is dominating, the match will eventually come to an end and everyone gets to start all over again.

I truly think this is what can set Hyper Scape apart from the competition. It's easy to label a game as a "Battle Royale game" and say that's all this is, but Hyper Scape's gameplay is too darn good to be limited to just that box. If Ubisoft can adapt the gameplay to these other modes that open the door to players of more interests outside of BR, I think they can set up Hyper Scape for some big success!

Thank you very much for the detailed feedback! I truly appreciate the thoughts you have here, and think a lot of them are very interesting.
