[2020] Controller aim assist has got to be changed

I want to talk about the controller aim assist, as I think I have a different point of view in that I play on controller. I do not play on controller because I want to take advantage of any form of aim assist, I do it because that’s what I’ve always played on.

The aim assist does need to be changed. It’s not fair that I can perform as well as other people when I just got my pc a few weeks ago. The aim assist can be strong at times.

But it’s not aimbot. Not really even close unless you really screw with your settings in an attempt to take heavy advantage of it*. I have been playing Titanfall 2 for years, another fast shooter, and I consistently stomp lobbies playing on controller, so I have pretty good aim. However I don’t consistently win in this game. Most of the time I’d be hard pressed to get two kills in a match, because quite frankly, I miss a lot of my shots. My positioning isn’t perfect, but it’s pretty good, and I know how to play the game as a whole, but even with a controller, I am not consistently lasering people as if the game is giving me an advantage.

In addition, you have to consider that there are some inherent advantages native to mkb. Sometimes I get someone into close range with a shotgun and then get quickscoped with a protocol, and I think ”no matter how good I ever will be, it is impossible for me to ever achieve that.”

But as I said before, it’s still not particularly fair (in this game, I believe aim assist has the upper hand as it is currently implemented). But can we please just talk about it instead of going on a witch hunt? Aim assist needs to be changed, but not removed. I don’t know. I’m not a game designer. But please, calm down and discuss what could be done instead of frothing at the mouth.

*I consider this cheating, and this is almost as bad as downloading an aimbot. This post does not represent people who do that, just people who have always played on controller and would still like to without getting death threats while playing.
