[2020] I finally figured out what is causing stutters

To start, I thank the community for getting a post about stutters to #1 on hot on the sub. This issue needs as much attention as possible.

Anyways, onto the tech support:

For me, the problem was with Bitdefender. If you don't have BD and you are stuttering, then there is a wide variety of different solutions I've seen work for people. To start, see (video).

If you're like me and have tried almost everything anyone has suggested to try to fix stutters, it might be caused by your antivirus. In Bitdefender, I discovered that Port Scan Protection is notorious with interfering with games. It is very easy to turn this off. You just have to:

1. Open Bitdefender
2. Open the Protection Tab
3. Click Settings in the box titled Firewall
4. Click Settings above the list
5. Turn off Port Scan Protection.

Edit: I'm still getting stutters, but they're significantly less frequent.
