This is my last post regarding HyperScape until things change. Ive been ranting, critiquing and giving feedback for awhile now. Ive been lucky enough to become gamer homies with many of the games top pc players. But many of my peers have been urging me to leave it alone and to give it up. I now agree. I thought I was helping by offering tips and extending a helping hand, and giving feedback. So this is my last post. The devs team favorite line to throw at everyone is “be patient, we are looking at the data”. Enough is enough. This community is essentially being jerked around. Playtesters dont play your game, very few devs actually play their own game, and there is zero communication. For gaming and as AAA devs this is unacceptable. I have never seen a game designed by AAA in a state like this and everything being treated like its okay with no urgency. Your game is broken. I have seen devs tweet about situations where hotfixes would be deployed in the event that something was broken. AA is broken, it is the most busted AA I have seen in a game, and if you are a dev that tweaked this into its current state, thought it was acceptable, and pushed it to live servers, you should be ashamed. For a team that likes to collect data, nothing has been done, and even basic suggestions made half a year ago, such as glowing weapons to indicate lethal melee, have resulted in nothing. A game completely built around twitch integration gets an average of 70-100 viewers on twitch with non existent marketing and this game is back by Ubisoft. Dtap is still in the game, Komodo is apparently right where they want it? The game has more spamable splodes ive ever seen in the game. This game is clearly being pushed in the wrong direction, but im not sure if this dev team is willing to accept that THEIR vision simply is not working. It doesnt really matter if you guys have a plan or have a patch coming at the end of this month or february. Ur window has closed. U allowed an entire winter break to go by with busted aim assist, splode spam, and dtap. And yes I understand everyone was on break, and everyone does deserve a break. But, to keep things blunt, if you think its acceptable to leave a game you “care about” in the state you did while you go away for a few weeks, emphasis on AA, then you should prob not be in game development. The trust the community had in you is basically shot. And why shouldnt it be? Why would ur community trust a dev team that leaves a game in a state for so long before going on break, with no PSA stating ur even aware of the problem? Now you guys are going to have to work 5x as hard then you should have to. Not just to get the game back in a balanced state, but to also regain the trust of ur community to even come back and play. The game simply needs to be shut down for now. Stop the bleeding. Balance the game with the servers off, bring in DEDICATED playtesters that have both casual and competitive backrounds, start from scratch, learn from mistakes, and do a relaunch. I promise you everyone is looking for a reason to come back to neo-arcadia, but its going to take a lot. Ive been hopping on Hyperscape atleast for a few matches just to keep it going, but i cant do that anymore. Your lobbies consists of two things, controller aimbot, and the best players remaining dropping 30 bomb minimums per game on newbies because they have zero help learning even basic fundamentals. I swear these players play this game like its their first video game. Please help them. And i dont mean by busting weapons and introducing click to win mechanics. Make genuine effort to add turtorials, tips, and courses to demonstrate the skill gap. Again, you have players that have stuck with u through the BS, that have mastered ur mechanics. Bring them in to help discuss what should be added to help with onboarding. This is a long rant but this is the last one. Again, everyone that used to play this game wants any reason to come back. But i cant hope anymore that it will happen, and i cant continue to play. I hope to come back, but hey, the community can atleast say we tried to get ur attention. I wish all the best for the dev team and hope they figure it out, but many of us, including me now, will be playing other things.

Hello,

Appreciate the write up and thoughts. We know there has been some time without a patch, but as you already know, the team was out for holiday. While I understand that some time between content can be frustrating, we strongly believe in the team taking time off, particularly during holidays. However, we do have patches coming.

To clarify on feedback, we do balance the game based on community feedback, game data, development team feedback, playtester feedback, etc. Additionally, on top of that, we do work directly with some of the top players and streamers for insight into future patches and balancing.

In terms of aim assist and controllers, it is a topic we are currently looking at. We have heard the frustration. On the topic of new players, onboarding is one of core pillars that we mentioned in our Future of Hyper Scape post. Totally agree that a strong new player experience is key, and will continue to pursue ways to make it strong.

We have an exciting future for Hyper Scape this year and we are committed to making it the best game that it can be.
