Not true! I was only asking for further understanding about what makes it difficult for new players to get into the game. Just because I replied does not necessarily mean that we will pander to that feedback. I'm in the process of reading everything on Twitter, Reddit, Discord and the forums. We are reading and listening!

I really hope you all are listening to the fact that literally no one actually likes this latest patch. My squad and I played every day we could and it was our favorite game to play together, but none of us even want to touch it right now. Abilities feel absolutely useless and the time to kill is far too fast. When people were saying that the Protocol and Harpy were killing people a little too fast the solution wasn’t to make every weapon kill faster. Harpy used to be a little too overpowered, yet now there’s absolutely no reason to use it because Ripper has the basically the same time to kill but with much less recoil and ammo efficiency.

We loved the abilities in this game, that’s what made it stand out from other battle royales. The slow TTK gave you more time to make big plays with your abilities and made it easier to turn around fights if you make an initial mistake. My squad and I would constantly jump into as many fights as we could because it was just so much fun to play aggressive, but this patch has forced us to play so passively. Instead of picking combos of mobility and damage abilities all we use it invis, heal, and armor. Instead of picking a wide variety of weapons and feeling comfortable with then we now skip the Protocol, Salvo, Riot, and Harpy every time. Protocol requiring three body shots is atrocious, Salvo just does so little damage, and the Riot and Harpy didn’t get TTK buffs while every other weapon did, making them feel so much less powerful in comparison. Somehow they’ve made the Harpy go from top tier to completely pointless without changing its stats at all, just by making everything have the Harpy TTK without the downsides.

I appreciate you taking the time to explain more of your thoughts! I agree that the Hacks are a defining feature of Hyper Scape and something that makes the game feel unique. I've seen some comments mention the hack changes hurt the uniqueness of the game. I personally think some of the Hack changes (like Mine) were beneficial to the health of the game. I don't entirely agree with the changes to Ball, since I feel like it was already considered a meme pick for most players.
I personally really enjoyed the higher TTK as it felt fresh. There was a lot of feedback from newer players to arena shooters that the high TTK was a deterrent, especially in solo matches. This seems to be an issue with actual arena shooter games in general, and players struggle to try to adapt to the game. We obviously want to try to keep unique factors of the game, but also make the game welcoming for newer players to want to continue to enjoy the game, hence why I had asked that player on Twitter to explain their thoughts.

Appreciate you responding and being open with the community. People will always react super negatively to changes that will force them to change their playstyle just a little bit. This sub, unfortunately, has a very negative hive mind. Please take your time to gather both qualitative and quantitative feedback. The voice of the loud minority in this sub don’t necessarily represents everyone’s thoughts and feeling on the game.

Keep adjusting until you find a happy medium for everyone. Appreciate the effort!

Absolutely! We are definitely keeping that in mind when processing feedback from different platforms. Thank you for the love!

As someone with 80+ hours, 100+ wins, around an average damage of 1,300 and kills/per match at around 7, I don't entirely hate the weapon balance changes. It's those, combined with the harsh nerfs to the cooldowns that really making fighting against numbers infinitely harder now. I'm sure you've heard all of this 1,000,000 times by now, but I thought I'd add my two sense. Considering you can now get away from death around 30% less often with the nerfed cooldowns, getting hit by a random 67 from a Skybreaker, or Sniper, makes it almost certainly mean you're going to die. Playing solo squads makes this unbearable. That random unaccounted for damage, from a third party or unknown enemy, would mean that you die in every single BR, except this one! With all the tools the Hacks give you with their fairly short cooldowns, the better players are able to get away from those "certain death" situations you encounter in all other BRs. All in all, I think it's less about the TTK, and more about, how do I word this, the amount of "plays" you could make before, that are not possible now.

Thanks for your time on this sub-reddit!

Thank you for your thoughts! I can totally see how all of these changes at once could be overwhelming and kind of suffocating for some players. Although I've been reading a ton of comments, I still appreciate your two cents regardless!

the cooldown changes are great. just revert the weapon buffs.

Do you think any of the weapons pre-patch needed any nerfs in particular? How did you feel about the state of the Protocol?

Just wanted to say that even if the sub-Reddit is a bit toxic right now, everyone here absolutely love this game and only want the best for it

Oh, I completely understand that!! We all just want what is best for the game and for it to do well.

Why do you keep saying newer players? you mean people who don't play so say that. this game is too new to have a newer player category.

New players as in players who don't necessarily play the BR/arena shooter type games. Sorry if that is confusing!

I understand. So what about aim assist being a legit aimbot? Are you going to address the issue or are controllers going to be superior input forever? There are 2 great options: decrease aim assist by a monstrous amount or introduce input based matchmaking so people who put effort into aiming with mouse dont have to deal with "oh look software is doing 80% of the job of aiming for me so I barely can make a mistake/misaim - too bad you play mouse and have to mind every nanometer of your movement"

We previously made a comment mentioning the team is aware of issues with aim assist on PC, and is testing out several options currently. We do not have an official update on this yet, but it is on our radar!

What makes it hard is the matchmaking, when I started I got matched with people who would delete you in 1-3 seconds every game and basically makes you want to avoid every fight possible because you got no chance of winning them. It needs some sort of SBMM system to match people with their level.

Thank you for sharing! Matchmaking is a topic the team is having a careful approach with because of reasons like this.

Hacks needs to be like before this patch. Weapons too.

Do you agree with any of the Hack and Weapon changes at all? Like the changes to Mine or Invis?
