I see so many console players complaining about hexfire. I don't agree with the reasoning for why it's broken. I play on console and I don't think it's a problem.

It has a high rate of fire and large ammo capacity. Yes but it's lower damage make it more react-able than Ripper or Harpy. When I run into a Hex in close quarters when I have a Harpy I've won most engagements. In longer ranges Ripper has higher burst damage potential. Of course I've died to a Hex, but most of the time they got the jump on me because I was focused on someone else. Any other gun can do the same. Hex is the safest choice for players right now, but it doesn't mean it's overpowered just overused.

You can track better because you don't need to stop shooting Yes, but you can outrun its damage and make it harder to crit you. If you have good movement (jump and slide away), good use of skills, and good cornering (using buildings and not being out in the open) you can react and run away from a Hexfire at mid-range faster than a Ripper. But I concede maybe it's because I run Teleport/Slam and Invisibility/Invulnerability that I am better at running from a Hex than I am from the other guns.

Running into a squad of Hexfire's sucks. I see this comment but I don't understand it the most. Yeah it sucks, but so does running into a squad of Rippers or a squad of Skybreakers. Squads burst people down, that's what happens in squads.

In Conclusion, Devs please don't nerf Hexfire because of complaints early in the game. This is what I fear most. This game just got released it's too early to tell if it's broken. Maybe the devs implement an aiming fix and everyone's aim gets better or they do nerf it, then what? People will move on to using Ripper, and then maybe complaints about Ripper's burst damage will fill the front page of reddit. Look at game data, then make an informed decision. If I am wrong and it is a problem, then ok this is just my opinion anyways. I just don't agree with making a hasty change because it's a problem for people who are new to the game (most of us are all new).

We are definitely being careful with approaching this topic! From what I've noticed, the root source of the issue appears to be related to aim acceleration and aim assist. We are keeping an eye on these types of discussion as well as data. I think it would be something to check back into once the aim acceleration has been fixed.
