Installed Valhalla 2 days ago. Nothing but crash after crash after crash.

The crashes in themselves are tedious and boring, but not as boring and tedious as having to sit through the multitude of startup cr@p before one can actually interact with the game. In my world there are two genders: male and female. I don't need messages trying to convince me otherwise. One or two crashes would not necessitate me having to deal with ubisoft support but the quantity of these is forcing me into some action. 11 Years of dealing with ubi support and every time it makes my skin crawl as your support is awful!

I would open a support ticket but there is no longer any real support.
I would do live support chat but there is no live chat despite suggesting to the paying public that there is.
I would trawl through the forums but I cannot be bothered to do your job for you.

Over the last 5 months I had an Assassin binge - installed and played:

AC2
Brotherhood
Revelations
III
Black Flag
Unity
Syndicate
Origins
Odyssey

No problems with ANY of these, but the new title just decides to give up the ghost constantly.

It will come as not surprise that I have windows10, and would trust this OS as far as I can [censored].

Very sorry about this! Please upload your log file, and if the end of the file mentions an additional crash report, please upload that too.

Any other information about the crash would be helpful. Does the game just freeze? Does it close with no message? Is there a popup? Thanks!

Could you upload your log file as well? At this stage more information is very helpful, especially since different things could be causing the problem for different people.

I was replying to Pylos, but the log file you just uploaded did have additional information so thanks. It indicates there was an additional crash report saved to C:/Users/schae/AppData/Local/Temp/Eleventh Hour Games/Last Epoch/Crashes. If you could zip up at least the last few folders in there that would be great.

Thanks for the help!

Hey everyone. Very sorry that we haven’t been able to provide results to any of you yet. We haven’t been able to experience this crash internally, which makes it difficult to debug.

I would really appreciate it if anyone who’s having this issue would post screenshots of each of their skill trees. There may be a particular node or combination of nodes that is making this crash happen, so I’d like to recreate the builds everyone is using.

Thanks again!

A link to an unlisted video on YouTube is preferable over a filesharing link, but either works.

Thanks for the reports guys, I know it’s tough that we aren’t replying to each one but we do have a bunch of stability fixes coming down the pipe for next patch.

Very interesting. If anyone else here already has it or is comfortable trying it out, I’m interested to know if it fixes the issue for anyone else.

It is third party software so I’m not really comfortable asking people outright to do it.

I’m sorry to hear that McFluffin. We are working to fix this as soon as we can. It’s a daily topic of discussion and work for us. I hope we can fix it soon for you. This thread has given us a lot of insight into the problem.

Detailed system specs and logs are best. Videos of the crashes aren’t super useful. As far as I know it would just show a unity crash screen with little to no info.

Because that’s happening at a specific point, you will probably have good information in your logs. Please submit the logs to a new thread for this.

Thanks for the logs irud, we are sorry you’re having this issue, we are doing our best to solve it as soon as possible as we know it is very frustrating.

Hi everyone!

We’ve just released 0.7.8f which includes a fix for crashes on AMD graphics cards, and may help in other situations.

If you’re still having crashes after the update, please provide the information listed in this support article in a new thread. Details about your build and what you were doing at the time of the crash is also helpful, particularly if it happens multiple times. Thanks!

Thanks bud. Yea, it’s been a tough one. We’ve had at least a dozen of us working on it at some point or another in the last few weeks. I’m just so relieved that people are going to be able to get back in and play again.

Hello @hpoonis2010 and welcome to Discussions! Sorry to hear about your frustrating experience.

I understand from your post that you have random crashes while playing Assassin's Creed Valhalla and there must be a reason why game constantly crashes.
Please can you check through the steps in this article and see if there's anything you haven't tried yet, as we just need to rule out any of the most common causes of issues on PC first of all.

If you still have issues after this, let us know here and we can create a support case for you, as we'll need to get some system files (DX Diag and MSINFO) from you to look into this further. You can find how to create these files from clicking on them towards the bottom of the page on the above link.

Please let us know if you have additional questions.

That crash number is related to video encode library. Do you have Nvidia Shadowplay running? Does disabling Shadowplay make the crashing stop?  🤨
