@ArnenLocke The items grant you the points immediately upon being equipped.
@deljaroo You can unequip the item at any time, however the appropriate number of points will be removed from nodes allocated on the skill's tree.
(This cannot cause a tree to enter an invalid state by removing points required by other nodes.)
To start 2021 with a 💥. Patch 0.8.1 will introduce significant itemization changes!
Among these will be new modifiers which raise the maximum level of skills. These will be available on a range of item rarities.

We do want to bring Last Epoch to consoles in future - the game being cross-platform from the beginning & controller support being our first Kickstarter stretch goal weren't coincidences - however we're an indie team, and we don't want to overextend.
