On behalf of the ASU team, we wanted to thank you for all the love, excitement, and patience we have seen for our foxy Ahri’s ASU. We’ve been collecting your feedback and after discussing it with the team, we’re going to be making the below changes:

Note: We have some minor bug fixes coming in 13.4 as well that we weren't able to get into 13.3.

SFX

General

  • Smoothed out the tail of the E projectile.
  • Fixed an audio bug affecting Ahri’s passive.
  • Made adjustments to Ahri’s joke for more uniformity across the skins.

Arcana

  • Adjusted the duration of the Arcana R cast SFX.

K/DA & K/DA All Out

  • Adjusted R to be more audible.

Popstar

  • Adjusted the sync of Popstar Ahri’s Recall.

VFX

General

  • Minimized “glitchy” Q2 trail visual bug.
  • Fixed the orb not respawning if you died while Q is in the air.
  • Restored the ground effects for the Charmed debuff.

Arcade

  • Saturated the tails a little more.
  • R Aura is now rainbow instead of just blue.
  • Added red scarf pixels.
  • Charmed debuff ground effect has been pixelated to match the thematic.

Challenger

  • Orb is now redder/pink and made the lightning a little more intense.
  • Q1 has a bit redder/pink.
  • Amplified P’s heal from champions’ green flash on Ahri.
  • Adjusted ult ground VFX to now be redder/pink.

Coven

  • Reduced intensity of E charm heart outline.
  • The tail’s VFXs were added back in.
  • Charmed debuff ground effect received an extra decal flash.

Dynasty

  • Added a few petals to the Charmed debuff ground effect.

Elderwood

  • Added motes particles around her tails.

Foxfire

  • Added more fire particles on her tails.
  • Adjusted a few colors in the Q cast.
  • Removed some more blues from the orb.
  • Added scorched ground on W cast.
  • Recolored speed boost trail to match the rest of the VFX.

K/DA

  • Added pink overlay on charmed targets.
  • Tweaked the Charmed debuff ground effect to be less noisy.

K/DA All Out

  • Accentuated Recall last tail opening rainbow overlay.
  • Adjusted values on R tails.
  • Toned down R rainbow tails.
  • Added VFX in the dance.

Prestige K/DA

  • W hits are now gold.
  • Adjusted tail’s colors a little bit.
  • Tweaked the Charmed debuff ground effect to be less noisy.

Popstar

  • Added some more glitter on her tails and some subtle ones on her outfit.
  • Charmed debuffed ground effect has received extra sparklies to match the thematic.

Spirit Blossom

  • Accentuated Q missile shockwaves (and added a couple more).

Star Guardian

  • Added missing E charm debuff pink overlay.
  • Adjusted R effects duration so they no longer disappear too early.
  • Cleaned up R cast trail so it’s less likely to be cut on cast.

Animations

General

  • Fixed and polished auto-attack animations.
  • Fixed and polished hair clippings.
  • Polished to smoothen ult animations more.
  • Fixed bug where some tails would disappear during her recall.

Arcana

  • Fixed bugs on tails.

Coven

  • Fixed bugs on tails.

K/DA Prestige & K/DA Prestige (2022)

  • Fixed her hands.

Model

Base

  • Small adjustments to give some fur more fur texture.

    Academy

  • Slight adjustments to make her tails more saturated and fox-like.

Arcana

  • Fixed tails to be less transparent.

Challenger

  • Made purples a bit darker and added more textures in the tails.

Coven

  • Adjusted face to align with current model and rig adjustments.

Dynasty

  • Small adjustments to give some fur more fur texture.

Foxfire

  • Slight color adjustment for Foxfire tails to be redder/more fire like.

Midnight

  • Small adjustments to give some fur more fur texture.

Splash Art

Base

  • Adjusted ears to feel less detached; more integrated into the skull/position checked.

Arcana

  • Increased hair length.
  • Reverted some of the old forms & clarity of her face.

Challenger

  • Likeness pass on face to feel more like Ahri.

Accessories

  • Added the hair clip to K/DA Ahri’s icon.

Hi all!

The time has arrived! I'm Riot Bagel Socks and on behalf of the ASU team, we're super excited to present to you Ahri's ASU!

"Whatever new experiences await me today, I'll meet them head on."

An ASU (Art & Sustainability Update) has two main goals: 1) to make it easier to develop skins for a champion (clean up tech debt, improve processes) and 2) to update art to modern standards (older in-game visuals, animations, audio, etc). During an ASU we do not touch gameplay or ability functionality (other than some data clean up.) For Legendaries, the changes are usually more minor depending on the age of the legendary. For Spirit Blossom Ahri, we fixed some bugs with her tail movement and slightly updated some VFX and SFX. For Star Guardian Ahri, we adjusted her skin tone and face to be consistent with her new base. We also made some minor polish improvements to animations, VFX and SFX.

We are happy to bring you the Ahri Art & Sustainability Update where Ahri and her skins have been refreshed to bring our favorite fox up to date. Take a look through the turnarounds below, but please take her for a spin on PBE before leaving feedback!

Ahri's ASU heads to the Rift with:

  • Updated models and textures.
  • Updated VFX.
  • Updated SFX.
  • Updated animations.
  • Updated and/or modified splash art.
  • Updated ability icons.
  • Updated and/or modified VOs.

Ahri's costs are set as their current costs - skin tiers won't change with this update, as with all ASUs. As players who get a first-hand look at this upcoming content, we want to hear your thoughts! Given the large set of content this update represents, we're focused largely on bugs, anything that disrupts gameplay feeling, or anything that feels like a downgrade - our ability to make minor polish changes may be more limited.
