[2022] Saying hello and checking in!

Hey guys! How’s it going? Had some time at the end of a busy day of onboarding to come say hello!

What are ya’ll working on in game?? I think I might actually work on my fishing finally

Yeah! The team is working hard and making plans so we can spend more time reading and reaching back out to you guys! Many may think that stuff is ignored but it’s not.

Thank you! And I appreciate you too! We’re all humans with feelings on both sides of the screen. I think it’s a good time to start reminding each other of that and work together on a game we all love!

I completely understand too! I need goals to keep me focused and motivated, I think many of us feel the same and why we enjoyed the start of the game so much. So many goals!! I apperciate your honesty and I relate to your decision to take a break. I know the team is hard at working coming up with more things for us to work on as players!

Yup, I definitely understand I’m wading into a boiling pool… but we all have to start somewhere, right? And if people need to air their thoughts, then so be it. All that I ask is they also remember I’m still a human too and don’t need to be yelled at. I love this game too and play it constantly with my husband and friends. I understand. I even lost my cool the other day too on some posts… so, it’s a new day and we all try again!

Since it’s only my second week I am unsure of exactly what I’m allowed to release as of yet. With that being said, I appreciate these questions!! 1. They are super great and relatable 2. I can ask my manager to better clarify my boundaries on what I learn in meetings vs. what I can say here.

I do understand what you mean but at the same time, I find so many games that aren’t SUPER structered like a linear storyline based game or some sort of open world that has been worked on for years and years has it’s share of ‘chores’.

No problem though if you’ve reached your limit with New World! It’s always great to step back from any game for a minute and dive back in when the new content is released.

Hahaha I appreciate this. I’m definitely trying to find a good balance to help you guys while still providing feedback to the team where we can all find some knowledge in the exchange.

I can add your fort idea to my list when I present it to the team, I know they are super focused though on working through the current issues.

Oh for sure! Team members too! They play through and absolutely recognize there are things they’d like to make smoother for us all. Sometimes it just takes a bit longer or becomes a bit bigger of a project then thought. And balancing always makes a small task much larger.

I appreciate not wanting to get me into trouble! Haha, I don’t want to be fired on my second week here!

It seems that positive sentiments are shared MUCH less than negative ones… which is understandable, but it really is helpful to also hear the good things too.

Sadly I cannot as I don’t know the deep details myself yet and would hate to communicate something in an incorrect manner. BUT I believe it is something they wanted to cover in their dev video they worked on yesterday and if they don’t I can bring the topic up to the devs again when they get a chance to read over the forums later this week.

It’s definitely alot!!! Especially as I’m tasked with both New World and Lost Ark, but I’m excited to be able to help in some way.

And yes, seriously, I absolutely understand. Alot of the passion stems from love for the game. Wanting it to live up to the potential that it has. No one would take the time to dive deep like you guys do if you didn’t care or even keep playing for that matter! As much as people yell ‘dead game’, it’s still top 10 on steam and we appreciate that! I understand that and the team understands it, hence why they are trying hard to expand the team and spend more time interacting with you guys. It’s also why I try to remind everyone (myself included) that we’re all human and we ALL love this game and have big hopes for the future.

Thank you so so much!!! And I will be positing much more for sure! Ideally I’m trying to hop on a bit every day after all of my onboarding meetings, but in the future I’d like to be even more active!!

Ah I’m so sorry to hear that it didn’t go as you had hopped. Nothing is more frustrating than that. I’m pretty sure I’d flip a table… or two. I do know the team is aware of the problems and working extra hard in finding solutions to make the experience more enjoyable for everyone.

Yes!! Get some sleep! Sleep is gooooood, myself and my pup enjoy sleeping a bit too much, haha!

As for your thoughts about tools in the PTR, I actually added that to my list earlier this week when I was reading over feedback!! I think it’s a great idea! I’ll bring it up and the devs can make a decision.

I’m very excited and honored to be here, and I can’t promise that my tone will always be perfect… as we’re all human, but I to do hope that I can help freshen things up and get some great (and positive) conversations going!

I ABSOLUTELY agree… 100000000%. It’s something I’m actually hoping to stand by, more communication even when it’s not great news. The problem with this, is it goes both ways, ya know? This game is the dev’s baby. They have spent years working hard on it and at the core, love it very much. It’s hard to bring up when something goes wrong… it’s even harder when the community is on the attack and get EXTREMELY nasty. Too many devs get doxxed and too many situations escalated. So. Yes, hopefully we can all reach that point where honesty is something that can happen!

The devs have said and do stand by the thought that they’d like the game to be enjoyable for both PvE and PvP. There is only so much time and energy that can go into creating new content when they are also focusing on the issues brought up. Sadly I don’t have more detailed information in a way that I know you’re hoping for.

I’m not quite sure what you’re talking about, I’ll look into it… but I do know that there are meetings now scheduled to allow devs to focus fire on some questions and answer them directly (like yesterday). And I was hired on to help more in communication between players and teams. Not quite sure how I’d look as a teddy bear though!!

Lemme know how it goes!! Sadly they usually beat me, so I end up doing something else or going to another run that I love for resources. Definitely not fun though!!

I can definitely add it to my listof suggestions! I know the devs are currently hard at work trying to lock down the content they had been working on to launch along with fixing issues that come up.

Yoooooo yes!! It’s seriously such a good feeling to be running to a spot where you know there is iron ore and then… THERE IS IRON ORE! Even better if all three nodes are there. Yeeessss, delicious. Haha anyway, best of luck with your stream!

Best of luck hitting 60! You’ll hit it before you know it! Where do you have a house(s)? Decorating my houses are absolutely one of my favorite things to do. Still trying hard to own every single plant item in the game. I love plants lol

You’d be surprised that the complaints of the orbs are small but I agree, mighty. In the grand scheme of things, there are fewer people then you’d think. Just as many enjoy the orbs and the challenge. So I understand there is frustration but know that BOTH sides are being heard and the team is hard at work creating balance.

Things are always changing and lots of things planned for the future. And I dunno, I still have a fun time with OPR. But I can understand being bored, give it time

Sadly I can’t clarify anything at this point. Just currently here tonight to meet you all and get and understanding on the overall feelings of everyone. I’m still learning all the back end myself along with what I can share and cannot.

Hi there, not sure a poll is required tbh but our Community team is the right team to engage for such a request. We hear you and we are actively looking at options that take into account how the game is played today as well as impact to future content.

Since I am not the authority on the future state of orbs, I have asked the team in charge of them to engage the community on the design discussion. Not sure when they will be posting, but the request is out and I would think soon?
