@shadzybadzy Then, in a small space, it fills up as I continue to click. The cool thing about this is I can change the dissipation amount by checking the block below. It's dirt? Faster dissipation rate. It's a drain? Super fast. It's a stone slab? Very slow. Etc.
@shadzybadzy Here I'm clicking to spawn water blocks and the dissipation keeps them from propagating forever. Even when I spam click (like in the gif) to spawn a bigger pool it will still dissipate in such a large space.
@shadzybadzy The random chance to not remove from a source CAN cause a flooding behaviour but it is balanced nicely by that dissipation addition. This means you can add 1 block to anywhere and not worry about it flooding the world.

@shadzybadzy The dissipation part happens if a block (1-5 mass) drops to 1. If it does, there's a second value that counts up on an update. If it hits 4, the water dissipates. Like you, I am not using reference. This is something fun I was playing around with so take it with a grain of salt.
@shadzybadzy ...blocks to NOT pass on some of their mass to a neighbor. I'm sure there's a better way to do this but this gave me a nice balance for large bodies of water to fill smaller open spaces but have small ponds empty out and dissipate.
@shadzybadzy It depends on how much error you're willing to allow with the distribution. In this I allow for mass to be created to let blocks 'settle'. Otherwise, you'd have way more blocks updating for a longer period. So, what I find that works nicely is a small chance for...

Conversely, with a bigger water source, you can flood a space.
Ok lots of tweeking later and I think I've got this to a good place. Water will try to balance out but if it gets too low will dissipate into the ground. As you can see here, I use that to drain the small pond and also catch myself a fish. :D

@AlexNechitaDev That sounds very close to what I'm doing. My main focus right now with the water system is draining and piping it. Should be fun to figure out. :)
