I don’t have much insight on what caused the outage, only that it was a network engineering issue that affected every game Daybreak operates. I will say the good news (for us) was that our TechOps team was able to get PS2 back up and running pretty quickly, faster than any other DB-operated game. But still investigating the root cause, and will of course monitor for any ongoing issues or additional reports of login errors across all server regions.
u/Jgolenbo being able to lock onto a infantry, vehicle or aircraft (similarly to how death cam locks onto a killer) while OBS'ing would make for even more epic footage opportunities - can you mention this idea to the team?
Yea it’s def a good idea - this, and other functionality to improve obs cam for creators is on the roadmap, but probably not for another couple updates with everything going into the Colossus update, and the big update were working on after that.

Since it’s Planetside Anniversary week, and I haven’t posted an update in a few weeks, I wanted to provide some details on the various initiatives the Rogue Planet team has in motion...
Right now, we are preparing the next game update, which as you know includes the Colossus Tank, to go to PTS. Our intent is to have it ready for PTS late next week and we will be broadcasting a live stream to showcase the update in its full - not fully polished - glory. This is a fairly significant update, so we intend to bug fix and iterate on PTS for a couple weeks before it goes live.
Our progress on the intermittent comms issues I mentioned last time have been progressing slower than expected. Our Technical Director is continuing to troubleshoot, along with support from a few very helpful community members that have provided additional details. As soon as I have more to share, I will post asap.
