We deeply apologize for the reported gameplay issues that impacted October Community Day in the Asian-Pacific region on October 21st.

In light of the inconvenience our dedicated Trainers experienced, we will be holding a make-up event for October Community Day, starring Beldum, throughout the Asia-Pacific region on Sunday, October 28, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. JST.

We’re excited to let you know that in preparation for the arrival of Pokémon originally discovered in the Sinnoh region, we are making two key shifts to the game balance in the coming weeks. These changes are based on Trainer feedback and are designed to promote an improved overall experience.

Changes to Pokémon Migration and Behavior
As you explore the world of Pokémon GO, the following changes will affect the Pokémon that appear around you:

  • We are making adjustments to weather and, moving forward, it will have a reduced effect on the rate at which Pokémon appear.
  • As you explore a given area, you will notice that a greater variety of Pokémon species will appear over time and at different rates.
  • Certain areas, such as parks and nature reserves, will now contain more varied Pokémon species.

Pokémon Korea, Inc., will host the Pokémon Festa from Friday, September 14, to Wednesday, September 26. For the duration of this event, Trainers all throughout South Korea will find more Pokémon appearing across the country in Pokémon GO!

Coming soon, we’ll be rolling out the first beta test of the new PokéStop nomination system! This will be the first time that Trainers will be able to submit locations in Pokémon GO. Submissions will be evaluated for future inclusion in the game.

This feature will initially be limited to level 40 Trainers (child accounts excluded) in Brazil and South Korea.

Trainers who meet these initial requirements will be able to nominate potential PokéStops by submitting photographs and descriptions of the locations. Submissions will be reviewed by experienced users in the Ingress Operation Portal Recon (OPR) project.

How many Lucky Pokémon do you have so far? Professor Willow has unearthed another discovery related to the nature of Lucky Pokémon, and now trades that result in Lucky Pokémon are more beneficial to both Trainers!

The nature of Lucky Pokémon remains the same: the more time a Pokémon spends in a Trainer’s Pokémon storage, the higher its chance of becoming a Lucky Pokémon when traded. The Pokémon GO Summer Tour has now officially come to a close with a memorable and exciting Safari Zone in Yokosuka, Japan. 65,000 Trainers visited at least one of the three parks that comprised the event, walking an average distance of 3.75 km per person, and catching a combined average of 3.1M Pokémon each day.
