I’m not one of the writers but I would not consider the Containment event canon to either the Siege or Extraction universes.

Just for further clarification: The Outbreak event and Extraction are within the same universe, which is a alternative reality to that of Siege.

u/Newbieguy5000 beat me to it but yes, Rainbow Six Extraction AND the Outbreak event are considered to be in an alternate timeline/universe from the one that Rainbow Six Siege takes place in.
