Ok so here's what is happening.

When I launch either the Test server or the live game, it "closes" almost all my applications that are running in the background(bottom right of Windows). Like I have iCue from Corsair, I have Nvidia control for the drivers, and uplay.

The screen blinks black a few times like when Nvidia control panels starts running at Windows boot up and then I notice the icons being gone. I've tested this with other games and launchers, Epic, Blizzard, Steam, and none of them cause this issue.

Only R6.

I bring this up as it's causing about a 20% performance hit within the game. I average about 144 FPS at 1440p of my 1080 Ti normally within the home screen, operator selection screen, and depending on the textures in the level. Now, I'm sitting at like 99 to 105 at the home screen, same at the op screen, and maybe 115 in the levels or maps.

What makes this even stranger is that with Uplay being "shut down" or "end tasked" when I boot up R6, I can click my uplay again and it doesn't log me in or anything. It takes me to the game screen AS IF it was never shutdown. I know if Uplay gets closed, so does R6.

I've tried changing my Internet Security settings to disable anything relating to "game mode". I've reloaded my GPU drivers, Nvidia Experience, verified the game files for R6 twice, updated the Test server, and I still get that performance drop.

I want to say I noticed it after the latest Ember Rise update. NOT the season launch one. I believe there's been 1 update since launch?

Anyone having this or something similar? I scrolled through the recent posts and I'm noticing more of just pure FPS drops and crashes. I've had crashes too. Last night was the worst thus far but I'm more concerned about this odd "shutting down of tasks or apps" issue as I know it's centered around this awesome game.

I appreciate any help given to me.

Hello there, ScyncxZ! I'm incredibly sorry to hear that you're running into this black screen when trying to play Rainbow Six Siege. For starters, please try verifying the game's files in the Epic client. This will ensure all the required files for Siege are correctly installed. Then, you can run through the other steps in our technical troubleshooting guide if verifying the files doesn't help. Should you continue to be unable to launch Siege, please upload your system files to our team at support.ubi.com. They'll be able to investigate your files to provide more specialized troubleshooting suggestions for you to try. Thank you!

Hi RMTpedrozzz08,

Apologies you have been unable to launch the game in Epic. Are you able to verify the game files for me please?
Do you have any software running in the background such as game overlays or overclocking software that may be affecting the game launching that you can close through Task Manager?

Here is a list of software that can be problematic with our games -

Can I also make sure you have updated your graphics card driver recently?

Let me know how you get on after trying the above.
