Hello everyone!

Deciding to play R6S (after 1 year pause) while being logged in my normal account gave me the authenticator error (we could not authenticate that the game...etc.)

I somehow realized that the game was presented on a UCONNECT account made years (!) ago which I never connected to and did not have it connected to Seam in any shape or form at any time. I said ok and I started playing.

Today I purchased the year 5 pass and I basically get the authenticator error on both accounts, none of the recognizing my game.

This is profoundly frustrating. May I please receive some help? I contacted Ubisoft support on twitter Monday and they barely acknowledged my message today!

Thank you in advance

Hello RazesCH,

When you see the message - "There was a problem authenticating the ownership of this product."
This usually means the game is connected to either the wrong Steam account or the wrong Ubisoft account.

In order to help you find the correct one you would need to get in touch with us through our support channels as we are unable to ask you personal identifiable information over the forums but I can see you have said you have contacted us already over support so you are halfway there to getting this issue resolved.

When you contact us through your support case, so that we can locate your correct Ubisoft account, please make sure to tell us any past emails you have had, and previous Steam usernames and unique Steam ID numbers, we may also need to see a full uncropped screenshot of your proof of purchase from the game too.

Another thing worth mentioning is that if you bought the game in Steam, but you bought the DLC year pass from Ubisoft Connect they may be incompatible with each other, as they are not cross launcher compatible usually. The game and DLC will need to be bought from the same location to work.

We will try our best to get back to you within 48 hours through your support case, please make sure you have this information ready for us to speed up the process, thank you

Hello RazesCH, I have checked your case number and I can see you had a chat with another agent and they explained that you have more then one Ubisoft Account, which is why you are having this issue as mentioned in my original message, we can transfer the content to the same account but we would need to verify both of your separate Ubisoft accounts first and can see the agents have asked for certain proofs of purchase from you to verify the different accounts, I will not be able to go into any more detail then this however, please check your email for more messages from the team.

Here you can find the transcript of the lie I was told. No game was transferred to my normal account and over a week has passed.
Thank God I can play the game, no complaints there as that was the least you could do. But still, why are your employees lying like this if nothing will happen?
I've resigned myself that I only can play that game on an account and that cannot be changed. I am sure that if I ask to be helped, I will receive the minimum or be lied to.
Good luck to the guys that actually want to work there, you are in for a challenge!

Me (1/29/2021, 4:37:02 PM): so
Me (1/29/2021, 4:37:06 PM): basically
Me (1/29/2021, 4:37:17 PM): why did I get the error when I bought the DLC?
Me (1/29/2021, 4:37:25 PM): if I could previously play on what was my account?
Me (1/29/2021, 4:37:53 PM): I was told that I didnt buy the DLC in steam, which was false. The DLC was bought in Steam
Me (1/29/2021, 4:38:13 PM): all in all, the DLCs that Ubisoft advertises on Steam could potentially render your game unplayable?
Ubi-Treebearcat (1/29/2021, 4:38:27 PM): The issue is that you have the DLC on one account and the game on another account.
Ubi-Treebearcat (1/29/2021, 4:38:42 PM): So once we get the game transferred to the correct account then the DLC will work just fine.
Me (1/29/2021, 4:39:05 PM): But why does it matter what account there is if both are mine and both asked that I connect them to Steam?
Ubi-Treebearcat (1/29/2021, 4:39:44 PM): Because there are two separate Steam accounts, and the game is owned by one and the DLC owned by another. For them to work they have to both be on the same account.
Me (1/29/2021, 4:40:01 PM): no, I have 1 steam account
Me (1/29/2021, 4:40:17 PM): the 2 accounts were the uconnect accounts.
Me (1/29/2021, 4:40:45 PM): but ok
Me (1/29/2021, 4:40:57 PM): you might`ve meant that there were 2 uconnect accounts
Me (1/29/2021, 4:41:19 PM): can you please confirm that once the game is moved to the [email protected] account it will work?
Ubi-Treebearcat (1/29/2021, 4:41:50 PM): The issue is since the DLC was placed on another Ubisoft account, even though it does not have a official Steam account on it, it still has a place holder for a separate Steam account. Really we just need to get everything on the same page.
Ubi-Treebearcat (1/29/2021, 4:42:04 PM): And yes once everything is transferred over it will all work just fine.
Me (1/29/2021, 4:42:15 PM): how long might this process take, please?
Ubi-Treebearcat (1/29/2021, 4:42:54 PM): Its usually 24-72 hours, typically alot faster, but that is the longest it should take.
Ubi-Treebearcat (1/29/2021, 4:43:26 PM): But I already go this sent over to them, so as soon as they get it they will get it transferred for ya!
Me (1/29/2021, 4:44:02 PM): thank you
Me (1/29/2021, 4:44:08 PM): have a nice weekend
Hello RazesCH,

I do believe I've also responded to your Steam thread, as I noted there I bumped your case and I can a response has since been sent to you.

Please sign into support.ubi.com when you're next available to respond to this.

Also for clarification regarding the issue; the issue is not the Steam account your DLC was purchased on.

When you first launch / activate a Ubisoft product from the likes of Steam, you will be asked to sign into Ubisoft - this is where the product will then be bound to.

If this Ubisoft account is different to the account you usually use, or where the base game is located, you will run into issues and the error you've been presented with.

Once both the game and DLC are on the same main Ubisoft account you use, which we are in the process of sorting, you'll be able to access them both.

I hope this clears things up, thank you
