So this season, ive had a near permanent "FPS Icon"

Its description:
"FPS or Update rate icon appears when your frame rate is dropping or is unstable and the number of packets sent by your game client to the server is not high enough. You might experience hits being rejected by the game server and abnormal induced latency (this latency is induced by the game server to prevent other players from seeing your character stuttering). You could also experience rubber banding when the icon is red."

Ive checked, my frames stay steady in the game

Ive checked my internet, its running as fast as it should be

Everything, hardware-wise, on my end, is running properly and up to specs

What causes this issue?
Is it server side?
Client side?

Hey, Mad_Dog8762!

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. This constant notification seems rather strange if you are having a steady frame rate.

Can we ask what is your frames at? Additionally, what is your upload and download speed?

This could be caused by a number of factors such as hardware, network, and server issues.

OK we can rule out your specs and connection as an issue. Can you try verifying your game files:

Ubisoft Connect
EPIC GAMES LAUNCHER
STEAM

If the issue persists, please let us know.

Thank you.

Hey Mad_Dog8762, thanks for trying the verifying files step.

Do you know what your CPU usage is when running the game if you check through Task Manager? I do not want to rule out system files, software or connectivity problems just yet.

These are some of the troubleshooting steps I would advise running through for performance and FPS lag issues -

- Enable Vsync in the menu and in your GPU Nvidia software
- Check you meet the minimum requirements for the game and how much of your Vram you may be using
- Update your GPU drivers, update Windows OS and update your Network Card drivers
- Re-install any supporting software required for the game
- Check to see if running conflicting software in the background (disable them and perform a clean boot
- Check if using Dedicated GPU
- Perform some connectivity troubleshooting
- Remove other devices from network
- Use Ethernet instead of WIFI

Have you tried any of the steps above, we can guide you through how to do these if you would like?

As well as this, recently Windows OS had an update but did not push this directly to some peoples PC's such as mine. The current version is version 20H2, you can check this by going to Windows Update and selecting Windows Update History, it may be worth checking as Windows OS updates can cause a few of issues with our games and launcher if not updated to the most recent update.
