After getting home from the hospital this morning I settled down to play a bit of Siege. Oh good its the new patch!
Came back to my computer to find a crash report, hmmmm ok, these things happen.
Try to run R6 goes to the text to speech page and then crashes!
Ah well, the servers might be down for maintenance at the same time.
Six hours later and after repeated attempts still crashing, Congratulations Ubi you did a great job.

Hi Para2normal! I'm extremely sorry to hear that Rainbow Six Siege has been crashing for you constantly after the latest update. For starters, please verify the game's files in the Ubisoft Connect client. I generally recommend completing this process after updates as it ensures everything required for the game was installed correctly during the patch. Then, try running the game as an administrator to see if that makes any improvements. Since this grants the game access to all system permissions, it can actually resolve various technical hiccups. Afterward, please complete the rest of the steps in our technical troubleshooting guide.

Please do not hesitate to let me know if these suggestions do not work. You can also always reach out to our team at support.ubi.com, Facebook, or Twitter. Thank you!

So, in the 12 hours or so between me last playing and the patch upload taking place the files had become corrupt and I now have to reinstall.
I am quite old and this is the sort of nonsense I would have expected back when you loaded programmes off a casette recorder not in 2020.
As for the so called Customer support it is frankly feeble. I have spent most of my working life in Customer oriented jobs and a large company such as Ubisoft should be able to provide dedicated phone lines. The report a problem page gives no indication of whether a message has been recieved and the live chat is unavailable the majority of the time.
Hey there.

Is this issue now resolved after repairing the corrupt files? We took the decision to close all of our phone lines quite some time ago now but nevertheless I will pass on your feedback regarding this and if I can help with anything else at all please let me know. Thanks.
