So I just built a PC and its been good and I like my temps to be low but still get the most performance. So I clocked my R5 3600 at 4.00ghz 1.2v and stay below 68°C while torture testing with better performance than stock, except single core performance. But once I started R6 it changed my bios settings, core speeds changed, voltages jumped to 1.38V - 1.41V, and temps fluctuate like crazy sometimes (fans just ramp up and down like crazy). Also my cinebench score before starting siege was 9287 (4.00ghz 1.2V all core) after I ran siege my score was 7666 ( 2.5-4.15ghz 1.38V ) No other game does this, just R6. I will try a clean install and see if that changes anything, and running Vulcan didnt help either. Also for those who want to know the specs of my pc

Hello! It's very difficult to say why this happens as overclocking is not a common issue-related topic, however we will do our best to help.

From what I can see, the AMD Ryzen 5 3600 has a base clock of 3.6GHz however you mentioned above that it can go as low as 2.5GHz.

Do you happen to know what the performance is like when you don't do any manual overclocking? Is it the same / better / worse?

Rather than overclocking through the BIOS, I believe it may be best to instead use an application, so you can make changes much quicker and learn what works best for you system.

Thank you!

Thank you for confirming this with us. So when using an overclock the game does not perform as well as without? A normal CPU under load from a game will run around 75-80 degrees celsius when gaming so do not be alarmed if it goes this high. Afterwards what temperature is it at when running the cinebench with the lower score?

What are you finding your GPU temperatures running at during gaming and when not gaming?
