hey recently my isp has been throttling my internet speeds when watching YouTube and playing r6s, I did many speed tests and they seemed fine but when i play siege and watch YouTube i get connection issues, i had come to a conclusion that my isp has been throttling games and streaming services. i have recently solved this issue by using a vpn while watching YouTube, after using vpn things got so much better but i want to know if i can use the vpn in rainbow six siege, that way i can get good connection and no rubber banding / packet loss.

the vpn i use is called fast vpn by namecheap, is it ok if i use this while playing rainbow six siege?

Hey @ZYZZ_955

We're unable to promote the use of VPN's as they can be used to gain advantage in some situations. You would also have to consider anti cheat system (BattlEye), so you may want to ask their support: (https://www.battleye.com/contact/) about that if it would be picked up.

Hey @Holodaryn

ISP's can always be the cause of issues such as this. It's important to keep an eye on your internet speeds to make sure you are getting what you pay for. It's understandable to bit a little bit lower during peak times but it shouldn't be too remarkable of a drop and I would recommend speaking to them if it was or happening too often during a day, as they may need to have an engineer out to check the lines for your area.

If you are using one and having any issues in game, I can only suggest disabling it and seeing if it helps.

You can always manually change the game server you are connected to on PC anyway by follow this article.

@Holodaryn Hey! Thanks for the update. If the VPN is only being used for Chrome, then it shouldn't be causing any issues with the game. You can disable it anyway just to test it out though. If you still have any issues after contacting your ISP or creating a support ticket, please don't hesitate to come back and let us know. Thank you!
