Hi, I'm getting a weird problem with my mic. Sometimes it work but sometimes don't. The HUD symbol don't show when it is not working and I can't listen to others. My headset and MIC are set to default and comms default. If I close the game and open it again, sometimes it solve the problem. On the other hand, sometimes 1 match is working and then on the next it stop working. I use MOUSEBUTTON3 to activate the MIC but even if I use 'U' it won't work.

If someone have/had the same issue please, let me know.

Thanks!

Hey there Appcr4sh,

Welcome to the Forums, sorry to hear you're having issues.

May we know what headset you're using?

I'd also ensure your drivers are up to date.

When trying U instead, are you changing your keybinds when testing this?

Hi Appcr4sh, thank you for the reply. Is this the only game you are having issue with?

Do you often use alt tab to switch out of the game? Can I also ask if you are using any of the following programs when playing Siege -

Full Screen Game Overlays
RGB controllers
Overclocking Software
Hardware monitoring
Streaming software
Peer to Peer software
VPN

We advise disabling these on start up by performing a 'clean boot', as running this software whilst playing our games has been known to interfere with our games performance occasionally and audio input devices.

A more detailed list of the type of software, can be found here - https://support.ubisoft.com/en-GB/Faqs/000025721

To disable these applications from running in the background -

- Press the Windows key and S buttons on the keypad and search for Task Manager,
- Launch the app then navigate to the 'Start Up' programs tab
- Right click on any program or software that might be conflicting with the game such as the programs listed above and select 'Disable'
- Restart the computer then try launching the game from Uplay/Epic/Steam

Make sure to disable any programs or software that are not related to Microsoft or Rainbow Six Siege, restart your computer then launch the game.

Let me know how you get on after testing the game without these applications running then we can look at a few more things to try.

PS I would also make sure if you have any other audio devices such as a webcam with a microphone to make sure these are disabled in your WIndows sound settings temporarily.

No problem, try a full clean boot by disabling on start up in the Task Manager app and let us know how you get on, I have a few troubleshooting steps we can try for Mic issues that have worked for other players in the past, but I do not want to post them all at once as you will end up with a wall of text!

Let us know how you get on after your test, this is one of the easier first steps to check before we get into it!
