I've been playing R6(steam version) on my laptop for about a month now. After the first week or so, I began encountering seemingly random and dramatic drops in fps, accompanied by the yellow update rate icon. This problem usually begins when playing a multiplayer match, but continues even in T-hunt.

With all settings on low, the game normally runs at around 60 fps. When these incidents occur, my fps stutters and then drops to 20-25 fps, rendering the game borderline unplayable. This usually occurs after roughly 2 mins of playtime, but sometimes occurs immediately after starting a match. So far, I have found no way to restore the previous fps, other than exiting the game and not playing for about 24 hours.

I have looked at other forums for potential solutions, but have had no luck with an effective one so far.

So far I have:
- Turned all settings to low, no anti-aliasing, no vsync, in both windowed and fullscreen mode
- Turned off Full Screen Optimization for the R6 exe. (a solution that seemed to work for other people, but not me)
-Verified game files on steam
- Run the game with admin rights
-Playing right next to my wifi router

None of these have succeeded in fixing this issue. I would love to get some help to fix this, as it makes the game essentially unplayable. Thanks.

My laptop has:
-16gb RAM
- i7-1065G7
-Nvidia GeForce MX-250

Hello! Sorry to hear you're now facing issues with FPS, I will do my best to help.

I don't have much knowledge about your laptop's graphics card. Looking at online benchmarks it appears to be somewhat about the game's recommended minimum requirements. Any mobile hardware however is designed to reduce power consumption, so perhaps it's not getting giving everything it has.

- When playing for the first week, what was your FPS and was it consistent?
- Are you aware of anything that may have changed? Windows update, game update, new installed software.
- Are you laptop fans going fast when your FPS drops?

Considering it takes a little time before the issue occurs, it could be due to the laptop overheating. Double check for any dust and make sure it is in a well ventilated area.

This may take a bit of a discussion, but hopefully we can be of help here

When I first got the game, my fps was steady at around 60. My graphics card is pretty low end, but good enough to run most recent games on low settings.

I started seeing the issue about 2 weeks in, before the most recent season of the game. It was somewhat infrequent, but it has gotten much worse in recent weeks. I've gotten to the point where it happens almost every time I load into the game.

My fans do run quite fast and loud when this problem occurs. I've thought it may be overheating, but according to task manager my card only gets to around 60 degrees Celsius when playing, although it might get hotter after a long session. My CPU usage also hits 100% when playing, even for a brief period.
Hey there,

Thanks for getting back to us!

Can you please give the steps in this guide a try and let us know if there are any changes at all?

Thank you!
