Hey everyone thanks for updating this thread! I've taken a look into your cases and it seems like this error appears specifically when inviting a friend playing on Xbox to join you while on PC. If this is accurate to what you're experiencing I am sorry to say that currently Rainbow Six Siege supports crossplay between Playstation and Xbox consoles, or between PC, Stadia and Luna. This would mean that it is not possible to invite friends on Xbox to play while you are on PC. We have a bit more information here if needed.

Thank you for raising this, I'm sorry to hear the same error is happening to you even when inviting between the same platforms. Could you clarify which exact platform you and the person you're trying to invite are playing on? (Epic, Ubi Connect, Steam etc). And try out the steps from this article.

For anyone else encountering this issue, as mentioned by Ubi-Havoc please note that the cross play feature only works between console platforms, for Xbox to PlayStation and between PC platforms like Epic, Steam and Ubisoft Connect. While the cross-progression feature works between all types of platforms.

If anyone is encountering the same error between two of the same platforms, please let us know.
