Ever since the Uplay overlay rework, there appears to be no way to open chat with friends. Clicking on the 3 dots simply leads to a 'remove friend' option. When I try to open chat from the external uplay app it infinitely loads and is impossible to open one chat for a person, all chats similtaneously attempt to load.

Please enlighten me as to how to quickly chat with others (to let them know how long I'll be until I can join them etc.)

Hey there,

There should still be an option within the 3 dots to Start Chat.

Double clicking on the player in your friend's list should also open up a chat window immediately - have you tried this yet?

Hm, the image does not show... Hope this works: https://imgur.com/a/QgSqemF
Hey there.

Can you confirm the resolution of the monitor you're using? We are aware of issues with widescreen monitors and the overlay in particular so just checking whether this might be the same issue.

1920 x 1080 is the resolution on this screen. I'll also try a different computer and post the results.
Hey there,

Please let us know if you also have the trouble on a different computer.

As time has passed since your first message can I check if you have encountered any changes at all?

Many thanks,
