Can you please explain in more detail when this issue occurs, and whether it is intermittent?

There is a daily renown limit in Rainbow Six Siege which I believe is 50,000 so it's not possible to earn anything over that. This limitation was introduced to prevent exploits that were previously used to farm huge amounts of renown.
