Read moreIt's hard to put into words what a champion Shauny has been for the wiki over the last 3-4 years. From the simple things like posing for pictures or alerting us about hidden updates, to massive things like the /wiki search, mechanics sharing (that perk calculator was a f**king ordeal!), and everything in between, he's been such an incredible ally for us at Jagex, and there's about a 0% chance we'd actually be working with them (and away from FANDOM!) without Shauny being Shauny. Well over half of the cool shit we've done in the last year wouldn't be possible without him.
The crazy thing is, working with us was nowhere near the top of his job description, and in the scheme of things, his work with the wiki might not even crack the top 10 of the wonderful stuff he's done for the game. He brought the same positive attitude and big-picture view to every community interaction, and then just outworked everyone...and everybody even tangentially related to the game felt special bec...

Shauny - I've worked alongside you for 5 1/2 years, and to see your progression from fresh-faced 19-year-old boy to a mature, married dad-of-one has been amazing. Whilst I'm obviously gutted, I know it's for the right reasons - you'll smash it wherever you go.

Hey Osborne, now I'm interested, what are your favourite other games beside Runescape?
And how well do you fare within the Jagex corporate highscores?
Fallout New Vegas, Civ II, Day of the Tentacle, Toejam and Earl and Lost Odyssey are my all time favourite games. Slay the Spire has been my favourite game so far this year.
I think I am 60th or so on the staff high scores. Will have to check!
I know this is probably the 100th post regarding the topic and sure, you can be against all of the posts coming into the subreddit; but you have to admit people have stuck by this one.
You can tell many players aren't happy with how things are being handled. The silence from the staff doesn't help either.
I mean, we're not entirely silent we're replying to the topics regarding game issues, feedback, etc because we still have updates to release and players to assist wherever possible.
Personally I'm not in a position to comment on it and all it takes is misinformation for it to be disastrous!
There's definitely been talks on-going, as to what that means for a date on what we say I'm unsure.
I got confused a bit by a part of the announcement post. Something about earning our certification as an archaeologist. We did that already, in the digsite quest. I’m pretty certain we even got a certificate out of it.
All you do in the quest is pass a few Earth Sciences exams...and make a significant archaeological find. You're effectively a student who got lucky. Qualifications are more the faculty side of things - you become guild staff.
