| 1012s | uh on the stream I guess is so we're |

| 1019s | the update will be available on the |
| 1021s | experimental Branch the experimental |
| 1023s | branch is an opt-in Branch so it's not |
| 1025s | not going to be available on like the |
| 1027s | default Branch it's going to be |
| 1028s | experimental |
| 1030s | um it's gonna be experimental this |
| 1032s | release in particular as well yeah |
| 1034s | there's a lot of new features and of |
| 1035s | course there was the engine upgrade too |
| 1036s | so we do we do anticipate some sort of |
| 1038s | growing pains here but um we've done the |
| 1041s | best we can uh like internally with |
| 1043s | testing and also with external QA |
| 1044s | testers to make sure that we've got like |
| 1046s | all blockers out of the way so that |
| 1048s | people should just be able to play |
| 1050s | um and then we can get feedback and and |
| 1051s | start making any um uh you know some |
| 1054s | patches and things like that as well |
| 1056s | um |
| 1056s | and we talked about this a little bit |
| 1058s | more in a video last week on Thursday |
| 1060s | where um we just sort of wanted to share |
| 1063s | that uh we've got a couple weeks where |
| 1065s | we plan on doing a bunch of patches |
| 1066s | based on feedback from you guys |
| 1068s | um but then we will be closing down a |
| 1070s | little bit uh during July and maybe some |
| 1071s | of August where people go on vacation |
| 1074s | um that's just the thing here in Sweden |
| 1075s | most the entire country shuts down for |
| 1078s | like a month |
| 1079s | um so that will happen and so there |
| 1081s | won't be any updates probably throughout |
| 1082s | July uh but then uh you know if you guys |
| 1084s | keep testing and leaving feedback the |
| 1086s | team will get back to it as soon as they |
| 1087s | can in July or August or something like |
| 1089s | that and we'll get the patches out but |
| 1091s | that means the experimental uh period |
| 1093s | will be an extended one a bit longer |
| 1094s | than usual I think we've done this |
| 1096s | before I can't remember which update it |
| 1097s | was with six the six okay |
| 1100s | um yeah so that's just kind of how |
| 1102s | that's going to go this time around |
| 1104s | um but if you run into any issues the |
| 1106s | team will do what they can and if we go |
| 1108s | on vacation we'll take care after |

| 1112s | up your save files yes I think you |
| 1114s | should do that regardless if you're |
| 1115s | going to try experimental today or not |
| 1116s | uh always back up your save file it's |
| 1118s | always good to have an extra copy can't |
| 1120s | trust steam or epic in their Cloud sync |

| 1221s | a protest issue because Reddit are |
| 1224s | changing the API rules and a lot of |
| 1226s | subreddits are in like response to that |

| 1229s | um going dark and uh our Reddit did the |
| 1232s | same thing they're going to be back up |

| 1235s | but uh it's been dark on the Reddit it |

| 4982s | like about how we're gonna rate biomes |
| 4984s | is it just on looks it's just based on |

| 4994s | trouble is it just some looks is it like |

| 5230s | is Northern Forest but um when I did my |

| 5242s | interesting one because we we looked at |
| 5244s | that one and that's kind of the last |
| 5246s | starting area that we truly fixed uh and |
| 5249s | for this update specifically and it was |
| 5252s | also the most problematic one because it |
| 5253s | was kind of the one that was the left |
| 5256s | alone for the longest amount right so it |
| 5258s | had a lot of inherent issues kind of the |
| 5260s | the stuff that we talk about with the |
| 5262s | non-uniformly skilled Cliffs so I have |
| 5265s | uh uh I'm a little bit frustrated with |
| 5268s | this area because I'm just like oh they |
| 5269s | were so much wrong and there's not a lot |
| 5271s | I like I just patched it I couldn't fix |
| 5273s | everything I wanted to but you know |

| 5327s | you like run up to Northern floors you |
| 5328s | get a bunch of stuff there you also have |

| 5423s | areas that went through the biggest kind |
| 5425s | of cycle of pre-production yeah uh |
| 5429s | efforts of of making this into something |
| 5431s | special Dune desert has a really |
| 5432s | interesting development cycle yes yes |
| 5436s | I think have the most yeah yeah because |
| 5439s | they both had very different versions up |
| 5441s | for a while like playable before we get |
| 5444s | got back to them and made some really |
| 5446s | big changes and also in update 8 the |
| 5448s | Dune desert has a really sick uh World |
| 5450s | perimeter Vista yes yeah yeah so I |
| 5452s | haven't seen that yet you guys will yeah |

| 5455s | gorgeous so that's sort of what saves a |
| 5457s | little bit for me it looks so much |

| 6798s | required what's going to be the GTX 1650 |

| 6806s | the right expectations uh to people I |
| 6809s | think because the previous Graphics Club |
| 6810s | was the GTX 770 and like the version |
| 6812s | numbers between those are massive so it |
| 6815s | sounds like the jump is gigantic but we |
| 6818s | wanted to uh |
| 6819s | change what those requirements are I |
| 6822s | mean they're still the same requirements |
| 6823s | because it's still the same engine and |
| 6825s | all that kind of stuff but we wanted to |
| 6827s | specify different uh GPU requirements so |
| 6829s | that it it more better or hopefully |
| 6832s | better communicates like what you should |
| 6834s | sort of expect in terms of like what |
| 6836s | will be required with the minimum so the |
| 6838s | new specs will be updated on the steam |
| 6840s | store and on the Epic store soon I don't |
| 6843s | know if it's going to be live today but |
| 6844s | it might over the next day or two |
| 6847s | um and these will be the new minimum |
| 6848s | requirements required for update eight |
| 6851s | um and update 8 will obviously come to |
| 6853s | the Early Access Branch eventually so it |
| 6855s | will be required for the the game |
| 6857s | um so previously we said GTX 1650 which |

| 6861s | um yeah a big leap inversion number but |
| 6863s | like that card is actually not a super |
| 6864s | performance card so even though the |
| 6866s | number is high it's actually like it |
| 6868s | doesn't it's the the jump up is actually |
| 6870s | not as not super super super big from |
| 6872s | what it was before so now the new |
| 6874s | specifications will be GTX 1650 or GTX |
| 6877s | 1050 TI or if you're using AMD it'll be |
| 6880s | the AMD RX 470 or RX 570 or some |
| 6884s | equivalent uh performance and vram card |
| 6887s | and that's what we're going to specify |
| 6889s | as the minimum requirements when it |
| 6891s | comes to the graphics card now and so |
| 6893s | the um the minute the minimum these |
| 6895s | these cards are uh from what I |
| 6898s | understand roughly still around the same |
| 6900s | performance they're a bit better uh |
| 6902s | however it's their um it's the vram the |
| 6906s | four gigabytes vram that they that they |
| 6907s | have which is the key thing that uh |
| 6909s | Unreal Engine 5 really really does need |
| 6912s | um and uh the other thing is the |
| 6915s | previous minimum required card was we |
| 6917s | feel sort of like unreasonable to begin |
| 6919s | with but it was just kind of we didn't |
| 6920s | put that much thought into it back in |
| 6922s | the day and it was just kind of what we |
| 6923s | had lying around so we just aimed for |
| 6925s | that but giving things a bit more |
| 6926s | thought as well as considering the |
| 6928s | changed unloaded in five |
| 6930s | um that's what's gonna happen there now |
| 6932s | we do think that like the game might |
| 6934s | still actually run below these specs in |
| 6936s | fact the minimum required specs up until |
| 6938s | this day have as always been that you |
| 6940s | needed a dedicated graphics card but I |
| 6943s | know of many people who actually have |
| 6944s | played on integrated graphics cards and |
| 6946s | it still runs it doesn't run well and |
| 6948s | sometimes the game crashes but like you |
| 6950s | never know and so it could still be that |
| 6953s | if you have a card below these specs |
| 6955s | that it might still run |
| 6956s | but we kind of think that |
| 6959s | what we need to set our minimum specs is |
| 6961s | that to some minimum spec that will like |
| 6964s | guarantee some reasonable performance |
| 6966s | and so that's why we're setting it to |
| 6968s | what we um are setting it to now one |
| 6970s | other thing we want to talk about real |
| 6971s | quick is that if you play update 8 and |
| 6974s | you find that you're getting poor |
| 6975s | performance |
| 6976s | um or if you just have Hardware below |
| 6977s | the minimum specs there is something |
| 6979s | that you guys should know it's just that |
| 6980s | like there's a lot of options in the |
| 6982s | video options that can help tweak things |
| 6983s | so for starters I think TSR is going to |
| 6986s | be enabled by default and it could be |
| 6988s | that if you're running out of vram and |
| 6990s | like maybe the game is like tanking down |
| 6992s | to two FPS that happens when the vrm |
| 6993s | runs out a good thing to do is just |
| 6996s | disable TSR and use some other |
| 6997s | anti-aliasing we have FXAA and TSR |
| 7002s | ta so yeah yeah yeah exactly so you can |
| 7006s | use one of those and that that will help |
| 7008s | a lot as well we also have make sure |
| 7010s | that Lumen is not enabled which is |
| 7012s | called Global elimination you've also |
| 7014s | got overall quality presets like |
| 7016s | textures and shadows and all that kind |
| 7017s | of stuff and then you can also still you |
| 7019s | can no longer change to dx11 in the menu |
| 7022s | but you can still Force the X11 using |
| 7024s | launch commands and the launch command |
| 7025s | for dx11 is Dash dx11 and when you do |
| 7029s | that that will force off nanite and |
| 7031s | Lumen and the game may work in those |
| 7034s | conditions so if you're finding that |
| 7036s | you're having poor performance these you |
| 7038s | still have these options to to hopefully |
| 7040s | help out in update there's also going to |
| 7042s | be an option to run a benchmark so that |
| 7045s | the game will test your your hardware |
| 7048s | and then set an appropriate |
| 7050s | um video quality settings but right now |
| 7052s | that actually hasn't been implemented |
| 7054s | correctly the option is in the menu but |
| 7056s | right now it doesn't really do anything |
| 7057s | super meaningful but the plan is to have |
| 7059s | that running |
| 7061s | um before Early Access hits so that you |
| 7062s | can just run that Benchmark and |
| 7064s | hopefully you'll have some reasonable |
| 7065s | settings for your Hardware |
| 7067s | um and I do plan on making a video |
| 7070s | talking about this as well as any other |
| 7072s | potential issues that people might have |
| 7074s | by the end of the week so that's that |
| 7076s | segment yeah and if you're running on |
| 7078s | older Hardware uh just be aware that |
| 7080s | like TSR will switch on if you go to |
| 7082s | like ultra settings uh and you might run |
| 7085s | into issues with TSR on Old Hardware so |
| 7088s | just be aware that like yeah like you |
| 7090s | mentioned if you are running an old |
| 7092s | hardware and you the game is like super |
| 7094s | tanking make sure to disable TSR and |
| 7097s | make sure to just disable Lumen and when |
| 7099s | you disable Lumen you also need to |
| 7100s | restart the game because it will still |
| 7102s | hog up on the vram if you enable Lumen |

| 7107s | retains that memory for some reason |

| 7649s | across the world of course yeah it's a |
| 7651s | super nice feature and then there's a |
| 7653s | bunch of quality life stuff here so one |
| 7655s | of them probably one of the most |
| 7656s | important ones is like the destructible |
| 7658s | gas pillars so now you can use the |
| 7659s | novelist to blow up the fart rocks but |
| 7662s | we did get some feedback from the |
| 7663s | community about that yeah and we also |
| 7665s | realized that we didn't really put that |
| 7667s | much ball into the whole implication |
| 7669s | because we we want to move the gas mask |
| 7671s | earlier because what people mentioned of |
| 7672s | course is that well why would I need a |
| 7674s | gas mask now if I can just blow up all |
| 7675s | the all the Ford rocks so we already |
| 7677s | have plans to move the gas mask a bit |
| 7679s | earlier in progression so that you have |
| 7681s | abandoned that benefit of avoiding the |
| 7683s | gas basically before you can actually |
| 7684s | blow up the Gas Rocks but we were also |
| 7687s | looking into maybe limiting it so that |
| 7689s | not every novelist can blow up the gas |
| 7691s | pillars so you specialize nogalusks that |
| 7694s | will be available yeah so we might limit |
| 7696s | it to for example the the cluster Noble |
| 7697s | this kind of nuke because people |
| 7699s | suggested maybe just do the nuke I think |
| 7701s | that's not a bad suggestion but it's a |
| 7703s | bit too late I think to actually get |
| 7704s | that benefit because then you just have |
| 7705s | to wait until the end of the game until |
| 7706s | you can get rid of them but for now |

| 8477s | those things might not be taken care of |

| 8481s | time before and actually one other thing |

| 8485s | possible but uh if you ever see anyone |
| 8486s | else out there who who isn't aware of |
| 8488s | some of this stuff feel free to |
