| 23s | in today's video I'd like to talk about |
| 25s | the state of update on experimental and |
| 27s | what you can sort of expect from us the |
| 29s | next couple of weeks given that we are |
| 32s | going on vacation I'm also going to be |
| 34s | talking about the new official wiki and |
| 36s | why it moved so stick around for that if |
| 39s | you want to hear all that like juicy |
| 40s | gossip or whatever I don't know we've |
| 42s | released a couple of hot fixes on |
| 44s | experimental and by the time this video |
| 45s | comes out it is very likely that we push |
| 49s | the last patch for experimental for |
| 51s | quite some time as next week our |
| 54s | vacation period starts |
| 58s | we're going to be gone for the entire |
| 60s | duration of July so you probably won't |
| 62s | see any new patches for experimental |
| 64s | until August so yeah so far we've been |
| 68s | quite happy with the stability of the |
| 69s | experimental release and what I mean by |
| 72s | that is that we sort of haven't seen too |
| 74s | many crashes freezes you know General |
| 77s | game blocking issues it has been very |
| 80s | important for us that we try and leave |
| 81s | the game in as good of a state as |
| 83s | possible before we go on vacation so |
| 86s | we've been incredibly picky as to what |
| 88s | we have included in our hotfixes as to |
| 91s | avoid regression bugs as much as |
| 93s | possible that's not to say that folks |
| 95s | aren't experiencing problems at the |
| 97s | moment you know the most prominent ones |
| 99s | being performance issues and stuttering |
| 101s | we were sort of expecting these types of |
| 103s | problems in fact we sort of spoke about |
| 105s | it briefly in our Unreal Engine 5 video |
| 108s | a couple of weeks back and we are |
| 110s | looking into this but it is a quite a |
| 112s | complex issue to solve and it will |
| 114s | probably take some time but we |
| 116s | appreciate all the info that you guys |
| 117s | have provided to us on our our QA site |
| 119s | specifying you know like what Hardware |
| 121s | you have what settings you're using you |
| 123s | know you know all that good it really |
| 125s | helps a lot so thanks for that I highly |
| 127s | recommend checking out the video we put |
| 129s | out last week where Jace talks more |
| 131s | about this issue am I putting in the |
| 132s | right corner yeah I am uh where Jake |
| 135s | talks more about this issue and some |
| 136s | troubleshooting tips that might help |
| 138s | there's a bunch of other issues of |
| 140s | varying degrees of severity a couple of |
| 142s | honorable mentions are getting stuck in |
| 145s | hypertubes which turn out to be quite an |
| 148s | extensive change to fix so we could not |
| 150s | do that before vacation there's also |
| 152s | players getting disconnected while being |
| 153s | idled in vehicles pillars can't be |
| 156s | adjusted with a customizer you also |
| 158s | can't attach wall mountable power poles |
| 160s | to pillars there are weird rendering |
| 163s | issues with pipes some keybinds are not |
| 165s | working the object scanner doesn't |
| 167s | display its text properly you know just |
| 170s | to name a few you know there's plenty |
| 172s | more you know if I didn't rattle out the |
| 174s | one that you think is most important |
| 175s | don't come with me all right this is how |
| 178s | it is but anyway please post and upload |
| 180s | whatever issues you're running into on |
| 182s | our QA site |

| 186s | everyone can take a look at it I just |
| 187s | want to quickly mention too that some of |
| 188s | these issues might have been marked as |
| 190s | fixed internally on our QA site by this |
| 192s | point but uh merging these fixes into |
| 194s | the build might have been like too |
| 197s | involved or affected too many other |
| 198s | systems making us a little bit |
| 200s | uncomfortable patching them into the |
| 202s | game this close to leaving for vacation |
| 204s | because like I mentioned before it sort |
| 206s | of risks introducing regression bugs and |
| 208s | affecting the overall stability of the |
| 210s | game and yeah like I mentioned before we |
| 212s | are playing it quite safe here okay we |
| 215s | don't dare venture too deep into the |
| 217s | water you know we might get wet |
| 220s | but what about dedicated servers are you |
| 222s | yelling at your screen |
| 224s | among other things it's important to |
| 226s | remember that dedicated servers |
| 227s | themselves are still experimental so |
| 230s | when playing update 8 on dedicated |
| 232s | servers you're effectively playing an |
| 234s | experimental state of the game on an |
| 236s | experimental implementation of dedicated |
| 238s | servers we sort of still need to mainly |
| 240s | focus on the game itself and fixing |
| 242s | issues that are specific to Dedicated |
| 244s | servers often get sort of shoved to the |
| 246s | sideline unfortunately we would really |
| 249s | like to be able to fix some of these |
| 251s | issues and spend way more time on |
| 252s | dedicated servers but given how much |
| 255s | work there is maintaining the game |
| 257s | itself at the moment it's so difficult |
| 259s | to find time and we're a bit uncertain |
| 261s | as to when we can give you know |
| 263s | dedicated servers the love that it |
| 265s | deserves all right now I want to talk |
| 267s | about the brand new fancy official |
| 269s | satisfactory Wiki the wiki at |
| 273s | satisfactory.wiki.gg is the new official |
| 276s | wiki we announced this on the release |
| 278s | stream and we mentioned it in last |
| 280s | week's video but we didn't dive too deep |
| 282s | as to why this changes have happens so |
| 285s | so I'm gonna give you the full scoop all |
| 287s | right extra extra hear about it okay |
| 288s | here we go all right children gather |
| 289s | round let's let's hear The Tail all |
| 291s | right so in the long ago in the distant |
| 294s | year of 2018 the wiki was created by our |
| 297s | community over on gamapedia and then it |
| 299s | was sort of endorsed by us as being you |
| 301s | know the official wiki sort of uh but |
| 303s | then in the early 2021 Phantom started |
| 307s | migrating gamepedia wikis over to |
| 308s | fandom.com sort of like unify the |
| 311s | experience this resulted in like an |
| 313s | overhaul design which was quite bloated |
| 316s | with ads that take up a lot of screen |
| 317s | space including Auto playing videos and |
| 320s | you know mixed in irrelevant content |
| 321s | making kind of horrible to use a site if |
| 324s | you weren't using an ad blocker it also |
| 326s | took away a lot of control the |
| 328s | contributors had over the design of the |
| 330s | wiki so by moving to wikida GG the |
| 334s | weekend contributors will be able to |
| 336s | regain that original freedom of the |
| 337s | design of the wiki that was there from |
| 339s | the start now this wasn't a decision |
| 341s | that as Folks at coffee stain made this |
| 343s | is rather something that was voiced by |
| 344s | the community of contributors off the |
| 346s | wiki for a long time and with the move |
| 348s | to wiki.gg they believe strongly that |
| 351s | the new Wiki will provide a much better |
| 353s | experience and you know we sort of trust |
| 355s | and support the decision in making this |
| 357s | move so make sure to update your |
| 359s | bookmarks because you'll only find |
| 360s | information regarding up to date on the |
| 362s | new Wiki as the all Wiki won't be |
| 364s | updated anymore finally I want to |
| 366s | mention that Jace and I will be |
| 367s | attending Twitter Twitter |
| 369s | at twitchcon Paris in July so if you're |
| 373s | also attending and want to say hi then |
| 376s | this is your chance in the past we've |
| 378s | also sort of organized a little Meetup |
