I've heard that the new Arma has switched movement to a mouse scroll. Wonder where they got that from?
Anyway, it's nice to return the favor after everything they "inspired" us with 😀🤭
@KoKostinho @TruGunschlinger No but I didn’t try EFT either. :) I know you can change stances in EFT with mouse scroll but I didn’t know they have speed control as we do. The design of movement in Scum was a risky decision because most of shooter had same controls, but works great. More games should have it.
@TruGunschlinger @KoKostinho If you have read what I wrote carefully instead of going full berserk you would probably realized that a joke was on us and not on other devs. It makes me sad when people like you can’t see things like that. This is also my last reply to you. Not worth of my time
@Tonskatemore People have requested more movement freedom. Like sprinting really fast that consumes stamina rapidly and other things you requested. We have that feedback but the problem is with the amount of animations that are linked with the main character. Combination of FPP and TPP…
@Tonskatemore … has piled up +6k anims already (all weapons in all stances in different paces, both perspectives etc). So it’s kind of tight squeeze, consoles already have issues with memory consumption. So I can’t promise anything yet, but would love to have everything you said
@pogo_scum I prefer low loot, that’s what survival should be, but it’s not for everyone. There is a huge amount of people who prefer faster action. It will be on private server owners and modders to take control over the difficulty of the game.
@Tonskatemore That would be possible but to a certain extent. So we could make morphs between moves but if you add a completely new way of moving that still have to be recorded or would not look natural.
@Stingale1 Rn for us it’s more important to focus on development and gameplay things along with the technical issues. Once that’s done we’ll be oriented towards the marketing more. The player influx is more than adequate to help us finish the game. No need to get ahead of ourselves.
C1 Exhaustion was activated after 5min RT (20min GT). C1 doesn't reduce the performance in any way, it is more like a gauge to indicate when the reduction will start to occur (when it hits C2), so you can fight before it happens. You can ignore most of C1s in the game.
There were complaints about exhaustion so I did this for you:
1. The character is avg 3,3,3,3
2. Gear weight was slightly below the limit (33/36kg)
3. Kept the character fed (MREs) and hydrated (water)
4. I've ran for 3h real time (12 game time)
5. Test lasted from 8:30am-9pm GT http://pbs.twimg.com/media/FwajglwaMAQJZQ7.jpg
After some 30min RT (2h GT) C1 Exhaustion got to 50%. That's 30 SUs from 60SUs that the character has. C1 is a 60SU free buffer and there is still no stamina reduction! I've managed to get through 3 sectors during that time. http://pbs.twimg.com/media/Fwak3UBaIAcl9q4.jpg
C1 Exhaustion was still below 100% when I've reached the top of the map between D3/D4, that's after 1h:10min RT or approx 4h GT. Still no reduction of the character's performance in any way!
C1 got to 53.9SU from 60SU. http://pbs.twimg.com/media/Fwam8_naMAM4q-m.jpg
With 2h RT (8h GT) of running, Max Stamina reduction was 5%.
After 3h RT (12h GT) of running, Max Stamina reduction was 12%. The Semi-diurnal cycle ended with almost a full running circle around the map. I've dropped 0.4kg of weight and increased DEX by 0.1 point during that time http://pbs.twimg.com/media/FwaqWaMaUAQ9iRl.jpg
Some 8-10min RT later (30min GT), in the middle of D3, C2 Exhaustion finally kicked in, and Stamina started to drop slowly. One thing that I don't like is how C2 is shown at the moment, although your max stamina drops slowly, it's gauge rises fast on UI, that should be fixed. http://pbs.twimg.com/media/Fwao8gbaQAcGm-h.jpg
I took a lunch break for 30min RT (2h GT), used a bedroll to rest the character and logged out. During that time exhaustion was restored back to C1 at 75% value. This would give me at least of 1h GT of running without any penalties. http://pbs.twimg.com/media/FwasRdraYAI5KsH.jpg
From the gameplay perspective, the character ran in the fastest pace for 12 hours, cross-terrain, with 33kg (72.5lb) of gear for 40 km (25miles). In Tough Ruck Run in Boston on streets, Civilian Heavy division with 15kg (36Lbs) avg time for 40km is 7h:30min (the worst time is10h)
I'd say that the Exhaustion mechanics are acceptable.
Tips:
1. Rest your character when you log off
2. Melee actions are exhausting, use bows!
3. Eat good (cooked) food
4. Use coffee, tea or energy drinks
5. Smoking also helps you to relax
6. Do not overburden your character!
Time in the game and the speed of movement isnt' connected, and with days last for 4 hours, it's pretty close still.
Imagine how feels running a marathon with 15 kilos, then resting for 2hours just to run again for at least an hour without being tired. Because that's how it is.
@Bones0481 I didn’t have to watch it when I played approx 5 hours RT each day during the testing, so neither you have to. Read tips below. C1 you can easily be handled with cooking.
@MatoRoshan It’s on the list but since it’s a probably the worst feature- cosmetic mostly but takes a lot of work to be done (all clothes have to be reworked) it is left for later. I did suggest that each time you check time, a message drops down with the current time.
@JaniEronen_ It’s the same recovery if you are logged in or out. But since you are logged out it’s beneficial to get a fresh character. If you log out in your base you don’t have to lay down. Any stance works there. If you log out on the ground that’s not as good as a bed.
@KBansheeTweets You missed the point, food doesn’t matter.
Regarding living from “scraps”. I’ve already covered food and drink when people were crying about it. Did the same run without taking a bite.
Also looting will not maximize exhaustion growth, so you would get tired that much
@KBansheeTweets Some complaints came from people who like ti boost overload characters and then crouch walking them into walls to increase STR.That’s not possible anymore. I rather have a proper body building added to the game than that.
