Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere, and user_empire_designs.txt from /Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/ if you have made any custom empires or races.
- "uninstall" in Steam-Stellaris
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/Stellaris AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add stellaris.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular you need to make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam Stellaris or Documents Stellaris locations, before installing again.

If that doesn't help:
DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/settings.txt and pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log .

And does this also affect HOI4 and CK2?

Aside from the raw fps numbers, what other symptoms of poor performance are you seeing in this game? Slow loading times, jerkiness in zooming or scrolling, slow time passing? All of these?

Does it make any difference what size galaxy you play?

If you now revert to a game version that used to be fast for you, is it still that fast? Or also slow?

In your Steam library right click on the game, properties, betas. You can select older versions in there.

Best to test that with a new galaxy, save games probably won't load.

What if you then go forward versions? We're trying to pin down what is the newest version that is okay for you, and/or the oldest one that is not okay for you.

Wow, that's pretty old - we'd know if every player for the last 2 years had this trouble!

But in your Op you said "My game is laging from start since new updates" - the implication being that versions after 2.5.1 but before the current one used to work okay, but are now slow for you. Is that right?

I see your video driver is not up to date, so let's do that at least:
Download Drivers | NVIDIA
And does the Windows Update app find anything to apply? If so please go that and reboot.

And finally, is Windows set to have Game Mode on? If so try undoing that.

AsdaWey said: My game was running fine until the day after I played a multiplayer game.
Was that also on 3.1.2 ? If so this must have been caused by something external to the game somehow.

I see a number of Windows Update errors in that dxdiag. If you run the Windows Update app, does it run okay? If it finds anything to apply, do that and reboot - any better?

FPS in that screenshot is nearly 30 yet you mentioned just 5 in your OP - did the reinstall in fact help to some degree?

Sorry, I forgot you were not the OP - that kind of thing is why we prefer everyone to make their own thread!

In the game's video settings can you try changing the rendered to DX11 instead of the default dx9 - any different? It needs a restart to take effect.
