Developers do not respond in this forum, it is monitored by the QA folks whose job it is to qualify reports and pass them on as appropriate. They read every thread, but don't necessarily reply to every one.

Not a lot really. You could try both opting into the crossplay branch (in the Steam Betas tab for this game) which uses Paradox MP instead of Steam. Best to test that with a new galaxy rather than any existing one.  

No, it provides a place for a code to go if one were necessary. It is not. Just choose the crossplay branch and you are done.
