We see mod and localisation errors in that log. Is this happening in a galaxy that's never had any mods used in it?

I think that is likely coincidence.

When you say you tested without mods, this was in a new galaxy? Not loading one from before that had had mods used in it?

Looking again at that dxdiag, we see both hangs and crashes in stellaris.exe - not a good sign!

When it crashes, can you run the game up again right then? Or you need to wait or reboot before you can do that?

And can you then load a save and get past the point it crashed before? Or it always crashes as the same point?

I think this is probably caused by something outside the game, from what you describe. But exactly what I do not know!

Try this Windows Repair tool:

Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files - Microsoft Support

Describes how to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files in Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7 or Windows Vista. support.microsoft.com support.microsoft.com

If that doesn't help, make a new Windows user and log into this machine with that - does the same problem occur?

Clearly not a 'slow drive' problem, whatever they mean by that!

I agree this is likely a problem with your new hardware. If the people you took it to are those who sold it to you, it is definitely their problem to fix. If they can't find a problem they need to replace it, IMO.

The game is compatible with Windows 11, so that is not your problem as such. Yes, it could be a Windows, driver, or hardware problem..

Check your Windows Event Viewer just after one of these crashes or freezes. Do you see any significant ERROR or WARNING entries there?

Then, make a new Windows user and log into it with that - do you get the same problem?

Please report the temperatures of your CPU and video (GPU)
1/ before starting the game up and
2/ after say 30 minutes' play.
If your PC's vendor has given you no way of reading temperatures, install
