[2022] Add Stellaris steam game to launcher

The game edition in the launcher is a non-Steam edition, it can't run the Steam one. You'd need to do a new install in the launcher in a different location.

I'm not following why you had to abandon the Steam installed version and move to the non-Steam version?

But to answer your point, the two versions must be different as one interacts with Steam and the other does not, so obviously they cannot have the same stellaris.exe file.
