[2021] Launcher crashes on start(Mac)

Please delete the ~/Library/Application Support/Paradox Interactive/ folder. To see it go to the Finder, hit command-shift-G (ie Go To) and paste in ~/Library/Application Support/ . Then run the game from the PLAY Button in Steam, to reinstall the launcher.

If that does not get the launcher running, we will need these files from that same folder:

Attach ALL .log files Found here ~/Library/Application Support/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/


Note that you can run stellaris.app directly from Finder, which bypasses the launcher.  

Let's try forcing an update of the launcher.

Download the installer package: https://forumcontent.paradoxplaza.com/emailsignatures/2021.8-mac-prod.zip

Unpack the file you just downloaded and place the three files in the Steam folder for the game you're having issues with. If asked if you want to replace already existing files click "yes" - that's a sign you are in the right place!

Then please repeat the launcher reinstall procedure from before.

Can i get new launcher log files please.  

From That log we are still using the old launcher installer, 2020.1 . You went through pos#4 above successfully, apparently? Overwrote the older installer files with the newer ones?

No, I'm not a developer I'm afraid. I can only make judgements from what I see in there, as you have.

Launcher 2021.10 was released last night, I don't suppose that helped?

I've used Macs for years but I'm unfamiliar with that command, or what you refer to as "security mode". Can I ask how you came across this, what led you there?
