[2021] Refuse to launch V2

Your Windows 10 has had no major updates applied since 2018. Our games are only developed and tested under Windows that is fully patched up.

Please run the Windows Updater and look for a new Windows 10 version to apply - not a patch or update but a whole new version. Apply that, reboot, run it again, apply everything it finds, reboot again - keep doing that until fully up to date. Boring I know bit you have some catching up to do!

I am pretty sure that doing what i suggested will help you. If you don't want to follow my advice, that is your right of course.  

Yes, the new launcher has a problem which is fixed by updating VC++ from MS.

Your problem with this game predates that. Why you are okay with installing those but not other Windows updates I don't know. Apart from anything else they contain large numbers of security fixes that I'm sure Microsoft would suggest you install.

Please try it. If it doesn't help then we'll look into other things here.

So no major update applied since late 2018. You have missed at least 3. And I assure you they contain a LOT more than just security updates.

But as I say, if you don't want to do that, that is your choice - it's your machine after all.
