Hello Tamers! Here's some info in advance of patch 1.3 that we can share in advance, so you can, if you want to, get prepping.
Loatle's traits are going to be changing on patch 1.3.
This means that one of the most commonly used leveling up methods, that is, training at the Melee Shrine with the Loatle method, will no longer be doable like before.
ℹ The Loatle method, consists on having a Loatle with the Voodoo Trait and the Ignoramus Cloak equipped, plus four Tems of your choice that have high HP & are weak to Mental or Digital types (good examples are Skunch, Saipat or Mawmense), and the Temtem you want to level up equipped with the Coward's Cloak gear. That way, when the high-HP Tems are knocked out by Loatle you ensure that the knockback damage caused by the Voodoo trait will defeat both rival Tems, and that all the desired XP is channeled into the Temtem you want to level up.
We've studied other alternative methods, both new and previously used, and we've found out that there's a working alternative by using two Mental Koish (ATK 50 SVs / SPD 500 TVs & ATK 500 TVs) where one of them is wearing the Ignoramus Cloak.
We've conducted some tests to make sure this change won't affect the PvE or PvP community too much when attempting to level Tems up. These were our findings:
- The Loatle method is faster when attempting to level up one single Tem.
- [Without Learning Aid] This would be the most affected possibility, as it implies a 10 minute extra delay. [20 min Loatle vs 30 min Double Koish]
- [With Learning Aid] This would be only affected slightly, with an advantage of around 5 minutes over using the Double Koish approach [10 min Loatle vs 15 min Double Koish]
- [With Learning Aid+] This would be the most optimal situation, where the change won't be punishing, as it only implies a 2-3 minute delay [8 min Loatle vs 11 min double Koish]
- However, we've found out the Double Koish method is more optimal to level up 4 Temtem at a time, having the Coward's Blanket equipped.
- [Without Learning Aid] 1 hour for 4 Temtem.
- [Learning Aid] 32 min for 4 Temtem.
- [Learning Aid+] 26 min for 4 Temtem.
The conclusions we arrived to are that the Loatle method is still the most effective when leveling up one Temtem, but the Double Mental Koish method is much better to level up bigger groups of Tems.
There's also other factors that make the Double Koish method much more accessible:
- You only need to train 2 Temtems, as opposed to the Loatle method that requires 5 trained Temtem.
- Training the two Koish costs around 180 Feathers, as opposed to the 540 Feathers that the 5 Tems for the Loatle method cost.
- Purchasing the Tems for the Koish method would cost 10k-15k Pansuns, as opposed to the 150k-200k Pansuns that the 5 Tems for the Loatle method would cost.
We believe that leveling up will still be viable and manageable, and new players will have a much more accessible, cheaper method in the form of double Mental Koish.
Hope you can make the most out of this early information, see you soon!
