This seems like a question you all should ask yourselves? ;)

That said, I don't think Terraria is CLOSE to seeing the end of its Journey in terms of players and growth.

In seriousness, it was the perfect synergy of your amazing support fueling us to keep doing things the way we wanted to do them.

So how does it feel leaving the game behind now that Journey's End is really "The Last Content Update"

I remember playing Terraria on the X360 with my Cousin, and it was really fun, and also bought your game recently, i totally love it, good work and faith for Re-Logic!

Equal parts exciting and terrifying.

Do you guys have any plan for crossplay in the future?

Once everyone gets to content parity, we are planning to work with our development partners at DR Studios to try and make crossplay a reality.

We cannot PROMISE it will work or be allowed... but we plan to give it all we have to make this dream come true.

Will Multiplayer be free on PS4? (since rn you need playstation plus)

That's really more of a question for Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo - we cannot just circumvent their policies and processes.

Outside of making Terraria a server-side game like some of the F2P games out there that you might have in mind.

What do you personally consider "cheating" in a playthrough? World Hopping? Going to the anniversary seed for better RoD chances?

The beauty of Terraria is that you can play it your way.

Did you plan on making lore to the game?

And, how large did you expect to be?

The overall intent is mostly for the "lore" of the game to be whatever the player's imagination deems it to be. The lore put out at the 8th Anniversary was one interpretation of how things might have been.

Perhaps you have another one.

This is a sandbox game from the top to the bottom, including the "story" such as it is. We have provided a few hints in game - the rest is up to your imagination to fill in.

Is the pet turtle based on and/or inspired by Rainbow Dash's pet tortoise, Tank, from My Little Pony? (In particular the propeller part.) If not, what was the design process/inspiration for that pet?

It is indeed a reference to Tank.

Solar because with the meteors falling, etc it feels like armageddon... and Crawltipedes are clearly the best enemy in the game.

Are you guys currently working on any new games and/or projects for the future

We will work on something. What that is... you will just have to wait and see. Whenever we feel comfortable revealing our future plans, we will. ;)

How do you feel that your game has came this far?

Its a really unique blend of genres - that old metroidvania gameplay but in a world where you can change the world to tackle any problem in a seemingly infinite number of ways.

You can out-skill... out-think... oh and you can do all of that alone or with a crew of buddies. It is the kind of game that people come back to over and over again.

Why make a mod when we can just add it to the game? :P

All I can say is that you never see both of them together in the same place at the same time. Seems kinda fishy to me...

If you could implement another crossover into Terraria, what franchise would you choose?

If I had to pick just one I would love to do something with Don't Starve Together.

What made you come up with the idea of making the amazing game known as terraria

I wanted a game that I could play with friends. I took elements from many other games that I enjoyed playing like Castlevania, Minecraft, Metroid, Zelda, Dwarf Fortress and Liero.

I know this is small and i could ask more but what mods/packs did you expect when you released 1.4.2.(including memes and other stuff)

Ps: I am emptying the new seed world its very hard even cheating with items from servers and using the cel mk2.

The pre-existing big packs (Calamity Texture Pack, etc)

Translations/Localizations

Memes

...and the risque ones.

Hey, Red. I wanted to start by saying i only got into computer gaming when 1.2 was coming out and I didn't want to miss any of it, so I installed steam. As I'm sure is true for a lot of people here, Terraria has become my most played game of all time and I just wanted to ask, are there any major elements or ideas you wanted to add or include but weren't able to either due to the engine, time, or other reasons?

Again, thanks so much for all the memories. You're not only the creator of a great game, but of many people's childhoods. Thank you.

At one point I really wanted to add pistons to the game to allow players to create moving builds but it was going to end up requiring too much work due to the engine.
