You can make a backup before use your tech tree points and after play the mission. What do you need more? If you don't like your choice you can load again the backup and play the mission again with different techs.

Your log looks like totally normal. Can you please check if your antivirus are blocking the game? Check the blacklist in your antivirus and/or firewalls. You should also check if you have any kind of real time scanner in your antivirus. This kind of tool usually origins the freeze in the game.

I forgot to mention this, but this happens in the campaign only, not the regular missions, and only when loading the specific mission. Playing in Fullscreen with everything on max settings.
