When I go into graphics options my graphic card is detected as "Software Adapter [Default] (1 Gb)", and I can't change it.

I have a Nvidia GTX 970 and a integrated graphic chipset, Intel something something. This issue only appears in Trackmania, and it was perfectly fine before an update ~4 weeks ago already. This results as I just can't play the game anymore, I mean it's < 1 FPS when I try to """"play"""".

Everything is on date, the drivers, my windows etc... I tried to force the Nvidia card in nvidia options, I tried a lot of things because I did a lot of research on the internet before I finally decided to make this thread. I have two screens, one on the Nvidia, the other on the chipset, and even when I desactivate the Intel in the Device Manager, so I only have one screen left (the one linked to the Nvidia card) and when I launch the game, still only "Software Adapter" ! So the game basically doesn't detect my Nvidia GPU at all.

I think there's just no issue at this point, but for me the BIG thing is that everything was alright before some update 4-6 weeks ago like I already wrote in this post. And ever since I can't play anymore. I'm really thinking about asking for a refund at this point since I spent 30E in the club access...

Hey BloodRainbow, sorry to hear this has happened to you and welcome to the forums.

As you have tried some troubleshooting steps already, can I confirm if you have tried the following -

First you can try to reinstall supporting software for the game here, after you have verified the games files -

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down...s.aspx?id=8109 DirectX
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down....aspx?id=30653 .NET Framework 4.5
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down....aspx?id=14632 Visual C++ x64

Next, I know you have played around with the graphics card drivers, but just to double check did you try this particular method of switching to dedicated gpu for Trackmania specifically? -

To make sure you are using your Nvidia Graphics card settings and not the onboard graphics -

- First, open the Nvidia Control Panel
- Navigate to 3D Settings > Manage 3D Settings
- Open the tab Program Settings and choose the Trackmania game from the drop down menu.
- Next, select the preferred graphics processor for this game from the second drop down. Your Nvidia GPU should show as High performance Nvidia processor.

Finally, save your changes. Your game should now run with the dedicated Nvidia GPU.

Let me know how you get on after trying the above fixes.

At some point - I don't remember why - I downloaded dxcpl.exe, and I put Trackmania in the "list" (I guess it was to fix something but anyway), and then I uninstalled this dxcpl.exe. So I re-installed it again, I REMOVED Trackmania from the "list" in the program and TADA ! All is fine now. I just don't remember whyyy I needed this dxcpl.exe and why I used it for trackmania. Anyway. I'm so happy now !
This is fantastic to hear BloodRainbow_,

Thank you for sharing the solution you cam e to, it may help others in the same situation in the future
