First, we do apologize for the inconvenience. You do not need Gamepass in order to play. This is a known issue that occurred in Monday's update, and it's our top priority to resolve it as soon as possible.
We've added it to our known bugs list (found on our Discord), and I'll respond here as soon as it's fixed!
Construction limit for the world is 500, patch notes state they are worling on increasing it.
Hi hi! I know this is a bit of an old post but as an update, I just wanted to let you know we did increase the construction limit by 10 times the amount it was!
I was looking around trying to find a quicker way to do exactly this and it brought me here. I hit the limit playing yesterday and God knows how many random ramps and paths between raised areas I've built. That's going to take a while, and without a high limit I'd at least like a way to put them on the map so I can tear them down more easily. Now I know to tear them down as I go.

IIRC 500 was the old limit, they probably just forgot to raise it.
Yes! The limit is now 10 times that amount and we're still looking to increase it. (I know this is an old post but I wanted to make sure OP knew :D)
You can build 500 things, including stuff like boats and crafting stations etc.

I think I've answered my own question. I wanted to comment back here to close the loop on my rant haha. Decided to just dismantle a lot of the constructions and carry on with the game. I also read that the Devs have acknowledged the construction limit and are working on it!

Agreed, just streamed it for around 6 hours until I ran out of space for my village. Its hopefully being fixed in 2-3 weeks but come on man 😭 don't add survival and then not let us build cool shelters

We had the limit in place due to technical reasons and ensuing the game experience stayed smooth, but our team has been at work to make that limit less restrictive. We're hard at work at increasing this limit even further!

I mean, for a game that I bought largely because I love crafting and building, 500 is a minuscule number. I can't even floor and roof one of my houses
