Starfield’s latest update is here and it’s bringing several new features with it!

  • Improved surface maps - We’ve heard your feedback, and we’ve made some big improvements to surface maps, so you’ll always know just where to go and no longer “get lost” on the way to your parents’ place (and they weren’t buying that excuse anyway, you should really go visit them).
  • New gameplay options - For those of you who like a bit of an extra challenge or want to make some aspects of the game easier, you can customize your experience with brand new options in the Settings menu. Want to make ground combat harder but ship combat easier? You can do just that!
  • Added Ship Decoration mode to the interior of Ships – now you can decorate your ships just like you can with Outposts!
  • Added Tabs to Container menus to make managing your inventory easier.
  • Added the ability to change Traits and appearance after entering the Unity.
  • Added Dialogue camera t...

Hey all - more details here!

To clarify, this list is some of our plans for Starfield updates throughout 2024. We're not quite ready to share the specific changes included in February's major update, but you can expect that information closer to the update itself.

As the year draws to a close, we want to say thank you from the whole team for all the time you've spent in Starfield and all the passion you have for the game. In 2024, we'll be updating roughly every six weeks starting with our next major update in February. Here's some of what we have planned throughout the year on top of regular bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements:

  • City maps
  • New ways to travel
  • New ways to customize your ships
  • New gameplay options to further adjust difficulty
  • Official mod support with the launch of Creations
  • Our first story expansion, Shattered Space

Hey everyone, first, we read all the feedback here and greatly appreciate it and all the time and thought you put into the game. This small update was to mostly address the “pet-asteroid" so many asked about following our last larger update, and we wanted to get that out before the holiday.

We’ve been hard at work on many of the issues you’ve posted, and expect an update early next year that will include a large number of “in-progress” quest fixes as well as FSR3 and XeSS. Though we fixed several quest issues from occurring, in-progress quest fixes are much harder to fix and we’ve built a new system to correct those without you having to roll back your save.

We’re also hard at work on many of new features you asked for, from city maps, to mod support, to all new ways of traveling (stay tuned!). These will be rolling out with a regular cadence of fixes and updates we expect to have roughly every six weeks. If something can be done in a smaller hotfix in between (like...

First, an enormous thank you to all of you playing Starfield and your support. We are absolutely blown away by the response and all you love about the game. We’re also reading all your great feedback on what you’d like to see improved or added to the game. This is a game we’ll be supporting for years and years to come, so please keep all the feedback coming! Even if we don’t get to your requests immediately, we’d love to do it in the future, like city maps. Our priority initially is making sure any top blocker bugs or stability issues are addressed, and adding quality-of-life features that many are asking for.

This first update is a small hotfix targeted at the few top issues were are seeing. After that, expect a regular interval of updates that have top community requested features including:

  • Brightness and Contrast controls
  • HDR Calibration Menu
  • FOV Slider
  • Nvidia DLSS Support (PC)
  • 32:9 Ultrawide Monitor Support (PC)

Hi all,

We’ve seen your feedback on the Weight Reduction Perks and modifier effects. After investigating your feedback, we found there may have been some confusion as the current version of the Perks and modifiers is correct. Previously, Weight Reduction perks were decreasing beyond what was intended, which is what was fixed and now remains capped at 90% for any given item.

We have also fixed server login issues for console players as well as some issues with Challenges that came out of last week’s update. We have temporarily turned off the One Violent Night public event while we investigate an issue causing unintended fail states. We will provide updates on that fix as soon as we can.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience. As a thank you, we are adding a Scrip Surplus Event from Today (Thursday) to Monday and providing Double SCORE this weekend on Saturday and Sunday.

Thank you again.
