This is not the intended interaction; sorry, this slipped off our radar when we meant to special case it. Will be fixed for 8.1 where one cast of Fuse tac will do 50% max hp to any wall it hits.

Fun fact: she used to be able to, when we treated ability to open blue bins as a "class passive" for support legends; her and Lifeline are the only support legends so far. I don't 100% remember why we moved off that during her dev; might have been that we couldn't find good fits for class passives for defensive and assault, might have been that we thought Loba already had enough loot power. I really can't remember now! (We would have made that call some time in February 2020)

That's absolutely something on the table we could bring back. We'd need a few more new voice lines for her (not a problem; just adds some dev time) and we'd need to make sure we absolutely do want new support legends to get access to blue bins (sounds like a no-brainer, but you never know in game design).

It also makes sense, since she's actually thieving from people, rather than being a pro scavenger, and would give you a good opportunity to push on enemies. (Also, it's a minor L-Star buff since it would be immune to this, and I love that gun)

I actually think the tactical is fine. The only problem is that it is just the only ability she has that is directly useful in combat, so it has to do a lot of heavy lifting. Letting a Loba sabotage her enemies with her ult would be great.

I seriously cannot tell if this is a sh*tpost or not. If it is, good work!

Oh absolutely! She's a great candidate to sit on top. The question isn't just "is she on top", it's "is she on top with a wide gulf between herself and the next legend down". That's where it gets a little unhealthy. We want you to feel that most, if not all, Legends are pickable, and if you have a clear best legend by such a wide margin you'd be trolling in ranked not to have at least one person pick her. That's bad for pick diversity.

It's actually the opposite of lazy! We created a whole bunch of extra work for ourselves for really no gameplay benefit.

Listen. If we were developing Apex today, I'd be like "EVERYONE IS ON THE SAME SET OF HITBOXES, MAKE IT WORK". Unfortunately that's not the world we live in. You may have noticed we haven't shipped another legend on a large hitbox; there's a reason for that. Unless we find a way to shrink Gibby and Caustic visually in a way that's not super derpy without having to redo all their skins and animations (and probably do the same for our tiny legends), I don't see us realistically moving to the same hitboxes for everyone, as preferable as that would be.

More seriously, we have more options, but the hitbox nerf worked wonders for Pathy, putting him into a very healthy place without nerfing him too much, so remain hopeful.

I don't think so, and that may well be a concern! I don't know how often it's relevant to track an enemy through two different reloads, but I could see this being frustrating if it happens.

I can't confirm that anything's coming, but we're looking at it. One of the possible outcomes of looking at it is that we don't make a change, so keep that in mind. Certainly nothing planned for Season 8.

We've got some other stuff planned for her, but if nothing else works we'll probably go to hitbox as well, yeah. The concern is that when we nerf Wraith we leave Horizon all by herself in that top position.

A lot of the ways in which I sound smart are just me benefiting from the knowledge this team has amassed over the years! I'm still new to designing for FPS games, so I absorbed as much of their combined learnings as I could when I started here. I don't have first hand experience of the negative impacts of wall running on the long term enjoyment of a shooter, so I can't really speak with confidence here. You may be right, there may be a tuned down version of it that works, or you may be wrong and any amount of added mobility over what we have now may imperil the secret sauce that makes Apex so good: your ability to understand and play smartly around complicated combat situations.

See the really scary part of this, to me, is that this is somewhat resistant to playtesting. It's the kind of unexpected negative side effect that manifests only over many many hours of millions of people playing with it and seeing what they can do with it. Moving some of the power from ult to tac is absolutely an option! We buffed her ultimate because anecdotally it hadn't been used much at all--both from looking at our games as and with Lobas and from watching streams, people basically disregarded the ability. We definitely fixed that, but it was a heavy swing. I think we could add some CD back into the ultimate and tone down how much of it she gets for free start of match. Don't think we're locked into always having this much power in the ult now! But it for sure was the safer option; I don't think any amount of power in her ult would have made us go "oh sh*t that was too much, revert immediately", while with the tactical that was a real risk.

This is actually not a data point we look at / have a graph for. It's hard to compare, right, what with tacticals and ultimates being on such very different CD ratios between different legends. I'm sure we could get that data, but I'm not sure what I would do with it.

I don't actually know! I didn't work on the feature. I've definitely seen light/heavy/energy in our playtests, I don't recall off the top of my head if there's gold snipers, but if I had to guess I'd say yes? You'll know soon enough!

I don't think we're treating shotgun bolts as mags (since they don't increase ammo capacity), so I don't think there's a gold bolt. Again, I didn't work on the feature myself tho.

I think some of you imagine this to be a lot faster than it is. There's a good delay before a holstered weapon is reloaded, and if it turns out that delay isn't long enough, we can always increase it. This shouldn't be usable for cheating out of a reload; this should be for switching to another weapon, using it for a bit, and then switching back to your reloaded initial weapon.

It's still really powerful! But I wanted to jump in before everyone thinks this is instant or whatever.
