Is this compatibility mode? And what graphics card?
Unfortunately the Xiaomi 9A uses a PowerVR GPU, which we do not support currently on Android. I have made a note to investigate this further, but no promises as PowerVR Android devices are a very small segment of the market.
You could try setting the graphics settings to minimum on the login/lobby screen before logging in
Are you guys fixing the linux client? Broken since 4th march. It doesnot work on any distro, as per reports on forum. Do you guys even care for linux users?
It requires EGL now, now that we have added multi-threaded rendering, and as part of modernising the Linux client. It may no longer work on older GPUs/drivers/distros
Hmm this is mine in War's Retreat, ignore the 4 fps low I have background fps set to 5 when gaming.
I am not sure what it means either maybe u/darkimmortal can help. I do not get any stutters or anything as described by you or others in this thread, am very grateful but at same time wish I could help you guys!
Edit: are you running compressed or uncompressed textures? I just tried uncompressed and get insane stuttering, compressed is smooth as butter
The colours don’t mean anything, it turns more red as the value increases, but that doesn’t equate to anything bad
Yeah, ever since the lockouts the client has been progressively running worse and worse for me. For the last week, teleporting to a new area takes ages to load the environment, and everything is usually just the blank shade of white and can stay like that for over a minute.
Also, has the multi threaded rendering ever been re-implemented? If I remember right, u/darkimmortal said it was taken out because it caused too many issues and that it would come back sometime in January. I was a bit out of the loop for January and early February though.
Multi threaded rendering has been enabled again for a while
Can you instead respond to the main topic? even if there is no concrete answer yet, anything is better than nothing.
The crashes do seem to be the main topic, or at least the OP's main complaint
Alongside that the frame drops / lag spikes - we are focusing on these currently with some nice improvements on the way. GPU optimisations are also being looked at
That's why I also tested synthetic with everything hitting 100%
There are multiple RAM issues, one of them being: "the instruction at 0x%p referenced memory at 0x%p. The memory could not be %s. (c0000005)"
That's just a generic crash message, we removed it in favour of the windows crash dialog for new installations. It doesn't reveal anything about the reason for the crash.
If you reinstall the game and get a normal windows crash dialog, paste the contents of 'problem details' here and I can look at diagnosing the cause. Or if you can pull the details from Event Viewer, that will do too
will this also fix the item stack quantities not showing up? Really awkward when I'm trying to afk mining/smithing and I can't see how many ores are in my ore box or forge.
Aware of this, will probably come later than the crash fixes for S20/Note20
There are issues with the Note 20 and S20 series - fixes are on the way
Looks like the deb package update failed to go out with the rest of the update. Looking to resolve that ASAP. In the mean time, the new dependencies are: libopengl0, libegl1
Edit: Resolved
Third party packages such as Snap/Flatpak will need updated by their authors in order to work
Awwh man, any ETA for it to get re-enabled? It was glorious.
Probably January
Hey! I know it's an old thread, but since monday, my performance has tanked substantionally. It's not using my GPU anymore like before and yet again CPU bottlenecked...
Did something change?
Yeah we turned it off again because of issues some players were having
Performance is worse since today's update, areas where I reached over 100fps (such as the archaeology guild) after the threaded rendering release now barely reach 60 fps. Also looks like the game only uses one core over the others again. I5 7500 GTX 1080
We decided to disable threaded rendering for all users until we can fix the remaining issues. It's good to hear it was working well for you
Thank you. Really hope so as well.
Also most of the crashes seem to happen when I'm teleporting/moving. As long as I stay in an instanced area and don't move too much, it seems to be fine.
Good to know, i'll keep looking out for crashes, have put a fix for the low performance on 560ti (and other old nvidia cards/drivers) into the next update
GTX 560 Ti
-Noticed fps drops after last week's update, especially when teleporting
-After the warmfix, started crashing ~ once a day
-1st Dec crashed 6 times in a couple of hours
-2nd Dec currently crashing every minute or so
It is literally unplayable, I can move for maybe 40 seconds after I log in before I crash. This is just stupid and incredibly frustrating
Also seeing unusually low performance on a 560ti, looking into it
No crashes though, so hopefully the upcoming fixes will resolve them for you
Just got a new cpu and did a fresh install. The game will not load unless I unplug one or two of my HDMI and/or DisplayPort cables. (3 monitors).
Really annoying that I bought premier and can't use premier...
Are your monitors all plugged into the same GPU? If not, this is a known driver bug. If so, does it work if you disable any other GPUs you may have (such as onboard GPU if you are using a discrete GPU)?
im running a 2700x and red devil 5700xt in compatibility mode and it runs fine only after about 5 seconds of loading in a new area. The initial spawn into any area, even if previously loaded, im met with extreme fps lag. on medium settings im getting about 70fps full screen, and 140fps at lower resolution than 1440p
Why are you using compatibility mode? The lag when loading is typical of compatibility mode - it generally runs worse than normal mode
Is there anyone out there seeing any of the intended performance benefits from this update? If so, what are your specs? I'm on a ryzen 3700x / Radeon 6800 using Steam and it crashed on me once but it's playable. FPS ranges from 14 to ~60.
It's working well on a RX 5700 XT in our testing (threaded rendering takes it from 55 to 85 fps on max settings) so we don't think there is any universal issue with AMD RDNA cards. We're continuing to try and figure out why some people are not seeing the benefits
Still some bugs, disappearing graphics. Intel UHD Graphics 620. When shadows are turned off player and npc's dissapear partly
We are looking into this issue of disappearing objects on Intel cards
