Read moreHey guys, just a heads up. Values on tooltips I captured a few days ago already changed in our current build. Old images were replaced with up-to-date tooltips. So if you believe these values were a bit different a few minutes ago, you are not crazy.
Sands of Majasa Update brings new and improved tools for hacking and slashing through enemies. Axes, both one-handed and two-handed, are getting new 2D and 3D art as well as powerful implicit affixes to support a wide variety of builds and create new opportunities. Check out some examples below!
In the Imperial Era, the once majestic chimeras of the mountains and deserts are nearly extinct, due in part to the Immortal Chimeras. At first look, the Immortal Chimeras appear to be chimera that have been risen from the dead, though upon closer inspection one can see that the chimera’s body has in truth become host to a parasitic snake. Some say that these snakes are the cursed children of the dead goddess Majasa, though others theorize that they are merely tainted by the necromantic waste that has seeped into the land during the Immortal Empire’s reign. Either way, the way they animate the dead bodies of their hosts is an unsettling sight to behold.
The Chimera have a long history in our team. Years ago we had an idea for a monster we called the Immortal Chimera – a skeletal amalgamate monster with heads from different animals. We created concept art and even a prototype model but haven’t had a...

That is something we have worked on and improvements are coming in the patch 0.8.3. It feels really great! You can Lunge without canceling Warpath and while holding Warpath button down, your character will start channeling again after Lunge
Just the body.
Character models are one of the oldest assets we currently have in the game. Over the years we have learned a lot about asset creation and we believe our newer models reflect that. As we progress, we have an opportunity to give our older assets a second look. We recognize that the character model is the centerpiece for players (and the game) - it is always on the screen so it is very important for the character to look and feel good. In Patch 0.8.3, the Primalist will be the first character to receive an entirely new model.
The Primalist’s new model has an increased poly count to better support the shapes. Thanks to recent performance improvements, we are confident this won’t cause issues for players. You’ll notice the character proportions have been updated quite a bit, especially the legs, because the additional topology follows the muscles and different shapes better. The textures were completely redone from scratch to match a more realistic ...

Hey Travelers!
We have another music showcase for you! This week our talented composer Erik shares details about creating music for two zones, one of which is from the new Chapter coming in Patch 0.8.3. Slight spoiler alert ahead
The Maj’Elkan Catacombs zone takes place in the Imperial Era in the dark catacombs beneath the city. The Immortal Empire has a strong foothold at this point. The Traveler is battling a lot of creatures that lurk in the catacombs, including giant scorpions and spiders that threaten your very existence. The Turkish Dulcimer is featured heavily in the music, playing a lot of the melodies, backed up by heavy brass and strings. Two minutes into the music, there is a strong feeling of impending doom - that the world is falling apart, because it is at this point in the game! All feelings of majesty ar...

The next patch will bring a slew of changes, improvements, and new skills to Sentinel. We already revealed one new skill, Void Cleave, today we will showcase another one - Multistrike. Multistrike joins the ranks of 0 mana cost Sentinel melee skills. Its damage ramps up over time as you use it by creating more and more extra hits to other nearby enemies. Multistrike has synergies with skills in all three masteries and could be an ap...

This week we are talking more about music from the zone Heoborea. As a non-combat zone, composing music presents unique challenges. Our composer Wesley shares some details about the process.
Heoborea is a non-combat zone in the northern lands, the lands of the patron god Heorot. Musically one of the biggest factors that needed to come across was that since this is a zone without combat, the player needs to feel like they can take a breath and rest from the conquest for a bit.
Heoborea is also an interesting place with a unique culture, and finding this musically was really interesting and fun. As a partial description our Last Epoch lore and story creator Kyle had written the following about the zone: “The city is more developed than the other purely nomadic tribes of the north, but it retains that nomadic heritage, nothing is very developed, buildings are built with the idea that if need be, the skins forming ...

We are adding some new tools to the Sentinel’s arsenal in the upcoming patch, the first of which being Void Cleave. It is a powerful melee attack with a short cooldown and moderate mana cost that hits all enemies in front of you while also granting additional forward momentum. This skill requires a 2-handed sword or axe to be equipped, does not rely upon weapon reach, and added damage applies at 400% effectiveness!
While it is primarily designed for Void Knights, the specialization tree offers conversions to support other masteries in addition to a wide variety of options for players to customize Void Cleave’s behavior.
We have few surprises for our Primalist players for the next patch
In addition to new story content, the next patch, 0.8.3, will bring a slew of skill improvements and reworks. In particular, major changes to the Necromancer skills and new skills for the Sentinel class. Check out the clip below for an early look at one of the new Sentinel skill.
