Hi Odama III

The reason you were able to use those shortcuts was because we added something called CCP-master which mimicked the Windows or PC behavior. Unfortunately ccp-master was causing a conflict with the 64 bit client and therefore we had to remove it. I’m not aware of any plans to address this at this time.

The 64 bit version of the launcher requires wine-4.15-Staging-whinehq-binary-207 to work. If you run the 64 bit client while having wine-1.9.17-143-g91037ca-ccp-master-72 you will get an error stating that a file is missing from your bin folder. This is because the older wine version can only run 32 bit applications.

To configure the launcher for 64 bit version please do the following.

  • Start launcher
  • Click on EVE launcher in the apple menu at the top of the screen
  • Select preferences.
  • Make sure Run clients with 64 bit is ticked.
  • Make sure wine version is set to latest or wine-4.15-Staging-whinehq-binary-207
  • Click ok
  • Close the launcher and the client if either is running.
  • In finder, click Go to Folder and copy paste the following

~/Library/Application Support/EVE Online/p_drive/Local Settings/Application Data/CCP/EVE/SharedCache

  • You should see a folder named Wine – move that f...

It looks like the issue is that the latest wine version does not recognize quite a few graphic cards/adapters and the client is therefore unable to assign the card.

We have added wine-1.9.17-143-g91037ca-ccp-master-72 back in for those of you affected by this issue.

The problem with that one is that while it will recognize your graphic adapters it can not run 64 bit clients so you will need to stick to 32 bit clients while we work on fixing the issue with the latest wine version.

Well a right click usually brings up the menu which you would be unable to access using a magic mouse, that’s what I was referring to, but I see your point regarding the modifier key, unfortunately I do not have a workaround for this at this time.

Playing on the Mac I’ve not had any issues as I usually do not use the modifier key for anything. Perhaps someone else has some ideas or a workaround for these issues.

Can you file a support ticket please and attach your launcher logs to the ticket. I can’t reproduce this issue on my Mac so it would be helpful to see what is occurring behind the scenes on yours.

It’s most likely a combination of both that you have the free version and that you are running in Boot camp. Windows 10 runs the game fine. OpenGL issue might be that you have not installed the latest graphic driver from Nvidia or AMD or that you may need to add a environmental variable in order to be able to run the game.

If you are unsure how to set an environmental variable there there here is a guide here:

The Wine CCP-master which changed how the shortcuts for Mac worked and allowed those to function as they did has been removed as it was causing issues with other features.

The alternative is to get a mouse with two buttons and connect it to your Mac while playing EVE.

Try running verify.

Launcher settings > Reset options and Cache > Shared Cache Settings > Verify button.

So we have a beta version up now which should resolve this issue and the use 64 bit clients option should now persists between launcher startups. To switch to beta and help us test this:

Start launcher
In the apple menu at to top of the screen click EVE launcher.
Click Preferences…
Change version type to Beta
Tick Run client with 64 bit.
Click Ok.
Close launcher.
Start launcher.
Open preference… again and see if the tick is still there.

Then please kindly let me know.

It can happen during an update or when the client is saving if you encounter a latency spike while saving or updating. Why exactly is happens I can’t tell you for sure but that is why the launcher ships with the verify tool.

This is only a Mac issue, I’ve created a defect for this and notified development.

You, as in the player, can not. You would need to get a dev to do it for you. But I spoke to account management and was told that the authentication code should be sent even if you are on SiSi. If your not getting the code then there may be some other issue like your email not being registered for some reason.

But according to the information I have authentication should work on both TQ and SiSi. Just make sure all your information is up to date and correct on TQ and it should be transferred over next mirror. Hopefully removing any future issues for you.

The test server is moderated by the Quality Assurance team.

Can you be a bit more specific? If you are referring to rules not being enforced on the Test server I’m afraid I can’t comment on that as the Player Experience team “Customer Support” does not support or moderate the test server.

If you’re referring to something else then please explain.

That means you likely have Windows 7 installed but haven’t installed sp1, SP1 is required to run EVE Online and you will need to install the following update too which also requires Windows 7 sp1.

Could also be corrupt cache files, If you’re not at max available contracts, try clearing your cache, restart and see if the issue persists.

Comment

If the username and password just resets when you try to add an account to the launcher then your launcher version is most likely out of date. Try reinstalling your launcher with the latest launcher from our website and see if that resolves your issue.

Hi there,

It’s not possible on Mac because of Wine limitations. EVE us run on a Wine emulator on Mac which makes EVE think it’s running on a Windows. There is no way to move the cache from the main drive. You will need to move something else to a secondary drive.

Yes they will be gone next mirror, Singularity is not a server meant for playing and developing your characters. SiSi is only a test server and is regularly wiped with a mirror from TQ.

Comment

If you are encountering connection issues with TQ then I’m afraid the network diagnostics in the launcher are not going to help you. It only test your connection to the update servers it does not do any tests for TQ.

If your ISP is not able to assist you with your issue you can file a ticket wit customer support and I can try to help you figure out what’s causing it.

But it’s very likely the issue is originating somewhere outside our network and yours, most likely somewhere in the connection path from your ISP to the server. Most connection issues these days appear be somewhere in the connection route from the user to the server.

Hi!

  • Press and hold the Windows key on your keyboard while pressing R (this will open a run window).
  • Copy and paste the following line into the run window: %LOCALAPPDATA%\CCP\EVE\
  • You should see a few folders there. One will be named after where your sharedCache folder is located on your hard drive such as (c_programdata_eve_sharedcache_tq_tranquility)
  • Copy the folder to another location on your hard drive.
  • If you lose your settings again copy the folder back and your settings should be restored to what they were when the folder was copied. If you make any changes to your settings, you should create a new backup.
