Is it a firm decision then that there will always be a limit of 4 players per lobby? Personally, I like the 4 class balance, but I'd love to see something like an 8 player ultra-elite deep dive!
Yeah, it's a sweet spot. Anything higher than that really changes the game on a lot of aspects. Remember we'd have to match the number of monsters to the number of players, and even now there are some occassions where we hit our own hard limit, and some monsters don't react due to it being very heavy. One challenge is the procedural caves and deformable terrain, which makes pathfinding tricky. This is also the reason we don't have any humanoid enemies. Getting them to act like you'd expect is very hard - and since traversal is a big part of Deep Rock the whole glyphid theme fits the model well.
